Hello Peoplez,

I am lost, hectic...

Anyway, Basically i want to get a nice little cap for home usage, about 5GB a month but without having to pay a 24 month contract. So i'm looking at pre-paid.

I do not have an ADSL line and Vodacom bundles are ridiculously expensive.
R189 for 500mb... damn.

So, what would you go for? And how long does it take Telskum to install an ADSL line these days?

Thanks

do3

Sorry to say but Telkom might be exactly the right stuff for you.
do3 gives you 5GB bundled with your ADSL 4096 line. I don't have the exact figures in my head now but the sales guy in the Telkom shop broke it down for me ... and ended with R29/GB. Good pricing this :)

Oh, and how long it takes for them to install your line depends on how good the guys in your area are, and how nice you are to the sales rep in the shop.

Thanks,

I did read that article and a few others on this site. Most of the users are using Afrihost because of their good service whilst DigiChilli seems to be hot on their heels pricewise. Looked at GConnect because i only have a stupid 3G modem from Vodacom and their prices are also crazy unless you can get the 30 days broadband pass. And then you have to enable the Simcard onto their network or whatever it is however the website says "Not prepaid" sim cards... so yeah, skipped that option.

Seems like i HAVE to get an ADSL line... and the modem might be like a grand or so if i need to go prepaid and then explore my options from there...

Thanks for the assistance.
