I want to setup a MythTV system before the end of the month. Can someone please suggest a Good TV tuner as well as any items/parts I might require.. If possible I would like to purchase on eBay so I can use funds from my Paypal account.

I plan on using a Desktop PC (E5500 cpu for the Backend PC) and a HP Microserver for the frontend.. I have DSTV so I should be able connect my Decoder to the backend.

I'm guessing I'll have to purchase the remote separately. What else will I require ?

If single view, you can hardly go wrong with a hauppage pvr-150 mce (assuming a single view decoder). They come with with compositive video and s-video input. also a hardware decoder as i assume you will want to record.

You can use something like a compro k200 remote (uses the mceusb driver). iirc it doesn't have the thingy that would allow you to change the decoder channel (you would have to verify this).

Thanks for the reply.. I have a PVR (2P), I use it with a Tivo and record my series, I don't use the DSTV PVR for recording..

I've got a Hauppauge 150 mce card I haven't used for a while, PM me if your interested R650 neg
