I'm guessing that Boulevard liquors isn't in JHB?
Then you're guessing wrong. If you are going there to the the Amrut Fusion, make sure you get the 750ml bottle and not the 700ml, they have both. They are on the shelves as well as in the cabinets behind the tills.

A fan here as well but I've not enjoyed The Gauldrons. Have you tried any of the Glen Scotia range, the Double Cask is a winner.
I am a Glen Scotia nut, but only have a few gems in my collection:

Victoriana

Glen Scotia Rum Cask Finish - Campbeltown Malts Festival 2019

Glen Scotia 14 Year Old Tawny Port Finish - Campbeltown Malts Festival 2020

Glen Scotia 2008 Single Cask - Medium Peated Port Cask Limited Edition exclusively bottled for Whisky Brother.

That's a decent list, you've tasted more than I so you know it better. There's others available locally, usually at Checkers.

I've liked Springbank, Longrow and Kilkerran and obviously Glen Scotia. Not so much Hazelburn. I'm not sure what's the composition of The Gauldrons but I didn't enjoy that.

If you can find the Hazelburn olosrosso 14yo it's really good.

Customs tried to screw me over today...now I have to wait another 24h after re-submitting.

Only ZAR 173 approximately, but its also the principle of the matter.

Not sure if stupid or skelm?

I think they're just stupid, I don't think they benefit from screwing u.

How do u re-submit? I import my vitamins from myprotein and the last time I got screwed. There's another order on its way so I'm hoping they don't do it again.

You mean apart from making you pay them too much excise??

Luckily DHL sends very detailed docs before they send you the payment link for the VAT, duties etc.

I just call DHL and tell them what's wrong and explain what it should be, and then DHL re-submits.

Takes another 24h so that means I'll miss the delivery cutoff before Corona strikes again on Fri., Sat. and Sunday.

What are your thoughts regarding this Israel whisky, politics aside. Would you be interested in trying it?

I think Im going to try and source a bottle.

Im not into fashion labels etc but I do like a nice unique label on a nice whisky whereas this looks like it was created in Paint 2013 for fun, which is just my opinion.

I also got their email this morning but the tasting notes did not blow my skirt up.

The word "light" sure gets used a lot...

Nose: Gentle vanilla sweetness, followed by light oak and floral notes.

Palate: Light body, vanilla, caramel and honey sweetness, balanced by woody notes and light black pepper spiciness.

Finish: Short but delicate. The oak notes linger on the palate for a while with a nice light spiciness.

Bottega also sent a mailshot advertising it at R775...but it's nowhere to be found on their website.
