Last week I bought a 1.75 litre bottle of Woodford Reserve straight bourbon. $65 at a local liquor shop in Irving, TX. I'm impressed. Very smooth and drinkable. Straight, of course. It's going faster than I'd planned.

You should visit balcones

Yes they did. The shipping is done by DHL so that doesn't happen, I doubt it even gets to customs, I think MoM provides the info to DHL and they process the customs based upon that.
So I ordered some stuff on 18 Jan. Arrived in CPT on 22 Jan and cleared customs the same day.
Currently "with delivery courier" for delivery  :cautious:

Who did you order from?

Good suggestion. Will investigate.
I visited them in 2018 - excellent tour, fantastic whiskies - well worth the effort.

Also - suggest visiting Garrison Brothers in Hye,TX too - great bourbon, fantastic people and great tour experience.

Mine paid and cleared customs yesterday - but then picked for 'port health inspection', so delayed.

A long but worthwhile read about oxidation. In short the general advice is: once you go past half way you've got 6 months to drink it before you will start to notice oxidation. Otherwise pour it into a smaller bottle.

I follow that above rule, but with 1/3rd of the bottle remaining.
