...and what an interesting tasting this turned out to be! I was somewhat worried that these wouldn't have a lot of variance, but certainly you can taste the "progress".
Yep I definitely was MORE than pleasantly surprised. Outstanding Whisky...but then again I am a Campbeltown fanboi.

Now we have to buy Batch 4 on auction at ridiculous prices again...since the stock released was just 10 bottles world wide it would seem.

Really enjoyable tasting and so impressed with the whiskies and the progression of them.

Picked this up for R550. Glen Scotia 15.

Good price? Checkers Malvern. View attachment 1069389

It's a good price but I prefer the Victoriana which is R800 last time I saw it in a Checkers (Saturday). The Victoriana is very very close to Hazelburn 10/Craigellachie 13 so it's a good buy over all.

I couldn't connect or enjoy the Glen Scotia 15 or Double cask, yet I quite like everything else I've tried from them.

Hey, where did you find Victoriana for R800?

I went blindly because of Ralfy's review.

I'm picking up the Hazelburn this week so I guess it's a good thing I went with this. I'm still trying to vary my collection to pinpoint where on the Whisky map I lie.

Zewenwacht Checkers Liquor.

Parow Checkers Liquor may still have.

Yeah I don't know if I trust Ralfy reviews. Sometimes he rates perfectly good whisky 85 sometimes he rates perfectly normal whisky 85, and sometimes he rates things so high they become hard to find. I do wonder if some of the Springbank auction hype isn't partially down to his reviews over time.
