My favourite at the moment is the Arbelor 12 yr. Amazingly smooth.

The club (wineofthemonth.co.za) also has a whiskey subscription where they send you various single malts every X months. Live the concept because you get to try whiskeys you wouldn't normally get

Happy drinking everyone...

Checked it out, pretty expensive at ~R2k per 'mystery box'... Great idea though.

I keep going through their site and just can't find anything that I can't find cheaper or at the same price after the 10% off. :erm:

Any suggestions on where to look for a nice whiskey decanter (perhaps accompanied by a set of nice whiskey glasses)? Want to get a drinks tray going and I think a classy decanter or two would look great!

I've been keen to try some Japanese whiskies. Anybody have a good place to purchase those?

I did a bit of comparison -- TakeAlot's prices are not bad compared to Makro. Most of the time they were a little bit cheaper. Only problem is they only really sell the basics (but so does Makro probably). And then there's free delivery...

Got myself a limited edition 200th anniversary 8 y/o Lagavulin from Heathrow the other day (but to be honest, I prefer the 10 y/o).

I suspect takealot offering will grow over time. I see bottleshop is now also filling some of the orders on takealot.

Would love to try that 8yo lagavulin.

There's a few bottles around of the basic stuff from Makro, Pick and Pay, NGF and Aficionados
Nikka: From the barrel, Black, Red
Miyagiko
Yoichi

I've got a few bottles so we can swap some samples if you're interested.
