Thanks for the reply. Fair list enough. Ever tried Glenmorangie?
No. Does it have a peaty flavour?

The darkest and most intense whisky in the extra-matured range, Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban has spent 10 years maturing in American white oak casks, before being transferred into specially selected ruby port pipes from the Quintas or wine estates of Portugal. Extra maturation in these port pipes develops Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban into a voluptuous spirit with a complex balance of sweet and dry flavours and an intriguing contrast of smooth and crisp, cooling textures. Non chill-filtered for additional aroma and mouthfeel.
No. No peat in it. Quite smooth. My personal favourite in their range is "Quinta Ruban"
If you do try it, I would be interested in your opinion.
Working my way through a bottle of Bushmills at the moment, not too bad
Nom. This.Try Bushmills Black Bush.
I am assuming that *** = "kark"? If so, totally agree.
We recently got our boss Lagavulin 16yr old. Has anyone had it before...boss refuses to share

Lagavulin is excellent, nice and peaty. Definitely something to try (neat) if you haven't had it before, and can convince your boss to give you a pour.
At almost R600 a bottle I will have to try some at a bar/restaurant first.
Try Bushmills Black Bush.

I'm not a massive fan of the little bit of dryness that you get at the end from the port pipes. My favourite is the La Santa, gets a lovely little bit of sweetness from the sherry casks. The La Santa is actually my favourite whisky overall, not just from the Glenmorangie range.
Sorry man ... may not have liked it but never said I didn't finish itI'll take the Talisker off your hands, I'd take it over a cheap blend any day of the week.
+1 in the Laphraig.Laphroaig Quarter Cask - now there's a taste I will not forget![]()
This is my 1st choice, but I have a soft spot for my Johnny Blue.....
Quite pricey though, not?![]()
It is but that's the one so far that I like the most. Imo, it's even better than the more expensive 18 year old Glenlivet.
