No. Does it have a peaty flavour?

No. No peat in it. Quite smooth. My personal favourite in their range is "Quinta Ruban"

The darkest and most intense whisky in the extra-matured range, Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban has spent 10 years maturing in American white oak casks, before being transferred into specially selected ruby port pipes from the Quintas or wine estates of Portugal. Extra maturation in these port pipes develops Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban into a voluptuous spirit with a complex balance of sweet and dry flavours and an intriguing contrast of smooth and crisp, cooling textures. Non chill-filtered for additional aroma and mouthfeel.

If you do try it, I would be interested in your opinion.

Working my way through a bottle of Bushmills at the moment, not too bad

We recently got our boss Lagavulin 16yr old. Has anyone had it before...boss refuses to share

Lagavulin is excellent, nice and peaty. Definitely something to try (neat) if you haven't had it before, and can convince your boss to give you a pour.

Given his initial reactions I have better chance at getting a 90% raise..lol

I'm not a massive fan of the little bit of dryness that you get at the end from the port pipes. My favourite is the La Santa, gets a lovely little bit of sweetness from the sherry casks. The La Santa is actually my favourite whisky overall, not just from the Glenmorangie range.

Interesting post. Thank you. Unfortunately I cannot recall this. Convinced I must have sampled at some point in the past. Will try it again at next opportunity.

This is my 1st choice, but I have a soft spot for my Johnny Blue.....

My problem with the entire Johnnie range is that they are massively overpriced for what you get. They are nice but you can do so much more for the same price...

It is but that's the one so far that I like the most. Imo, it's even better than the more expensive 18 year old Glenlivet.

That's what it's all about really, down to what you enjoy. Age isn't an indication of how good it is, I've had some 4 year old whiskey that's better than some 25yr's I've tried.

Lovely stuff. It's my absolute favourite whisky. I'd take this over JW Blue anyday. I've had the Glenmorangie Lasanta as well. Perfect as a dessert whisky. I'm also a huge fan of the Laphroaig.

Any Ardbeg fans?
