A bit late indeed, most ppl have picked up the white walker, didn't care much for it. But the other two are releasing quite late. Show is over now, hype is slowly dwindling and book isn't really on the near horizon.

White Walker was really nice. Planning on picking up another bottle when I fly tonight.

These two are a bit late to the party eh? I honestly think it's a clever ploy by Diageo to empty some casks that don't quite fit in their main products...

I saw an advert on Instagram for Ardbeg day and it lists several venues but I didn't even know anything was happening outside of whiskybrother's event!?

Post up some details please. I know of just the WhiskyBrother and WildAboutWhisky events

In addition to those two, apparently there are events at:

The Chairman, 146 Mahatma Gandhi Road, Point, Durban.

Gorgeous George Hotel (Gorgeous George Rooftop Bar)
118 St Georges Mall, Cape Town City Centre, Cape Town.

I really don't know anything more than that. Hopefully someone has details for these?

I'm assuming you are going to buy at duty free when you say "picking up another bottle when I fly tonight".

My question is why bother when it's freely available at Makro, Checkers Liquor and Pick n Pay, to mention a few?

So I watched 'Neat - The story of Bourbon' last night. It's a pretty good doccie and well worth watching.

Do yourself a favour when you watch and pour yourself a decent bourbon to sip while you watch. I paired it with a Woodford Reserve Double Oak and that whisky has never tasted so good.

Maybe cheaper? Even R100 is still money saved :)

Enjoyed the short movie with some buffalo trace :)

That is being organised by the Cape Whisky Club and invite went out to their members (I'm going!). I believe it's close to sold out, but you can PM me for details and I can hook you up with the organiser.

Sorry to derail, but where did you find it as the high seas have zero seeders

I never know what to buy duty free because it’s always cheaper at home. So I look for a duty free special and I got a litre of WW for R400 last time which was decent. Let’s see what’s on the menu tonight. Flying through Istanbul.

Take pictures of what's in duty-free for future reference. I'll happily give you my WW for free in return for a duty-free bottling at my cost, I don't travel internationally so it's not easy to get duty-free releases.

nzb

I can hook you up with the .mkv version, just not sure how.

don't stress eventually the seeders turned on their machine last night.

With that being said, after watching Im buying a bottle of Makers Mark and Bulliet this weekend. Those guys are brilliant and so emotional in the movie

I can't comment on the Bulliet, and I'm also not sure how you like your Bourbon, but Makers Mark is a very serious Bourbon. I impulse bought a bottle ages and ages ago and after really trying to love it (I bought it after having watched a youtube documentary on Makers Mark and also bought it based on the passion exuded by these guys) it has ended up being my Old Fashioned mix - where it performs brilliantly.

In place of MM, I can suggest Bufallo Trace or Woodford Reserve (splash out for the double oak if you can), both readily available and both are brilliant.
