Not amused...
I am going to Italy in October.
Any good Italian whiskeys I should try?
Or are they not a whiskey making country?
I only know of Puni...

For the amount of bottles I have I do need industrial level. Also, wood does not feature in the style that I like.He only works with wood.
Sorry I didn't realize you need industrial level storage....
That shelf looks like a real barman's shelf...a beautiful and eclectic mixture of spirits and other quaffable stuff.
I could get really drunk there...

So much for me not buying whisky until next year, ordered a bottle this morning

Sazerac Rye gets my vote, you won't regret it. The cheaper option would be the Buffalo Trace.I said the same last month and already want to buy something new...with how fast I'm going through this bulleit bourbon I'm seriously considering trying buffalo trace, eagle rare or sazarac rye...lol
The usual SA prices for the Caol Ila has always been around R2000, possibly cheaper on MOM. I always wanted a bottle since the 2016 release.FYI that retail price is highly overstated....but still a reasonable deal.
I should be consulting with you more in future before making purchasesWild About Whisky:

I should be consulting with you more in future before making purchasesNot too fazed though, only spent R263 on my credit card, used loyalty points for the rest.
Yup, I don't have a FNB account but I've signed up for ebucks. If my family purchases from any place that rewards ebucks then they enter in my ID, I collect around R1500 a year this way. Mostly get points from Dischem, Takealot and Makro.Wow, bargain indeed !! That definitely makes it worth it.
This is probably going to be quite the experience. Unfortunately far beyond what I am capable of spending but I look forward to hearing about how it was from those that do attend. If I lived close enough, this is a Whisky Brother tasting I would NOT miss:
Highly recommend Sazerac and Bulleit. If you willing on spending a bit extra Blanton's gold is good but suggest you try before you buy on that oneI said the same last month and already want to buy something new...with how fast I'm going through this bulleit bourbon I'm seriously considering trying buffalo trace, eagle rare or sazarac rye...lol
Allo all! Seems That even though I love my smoky Islays (Ardbeg, Lagavulin and Laphroig) I seem to like pretty much most of the whiskeys.
This week I added JW Island Green (really yummy) and Nikka from the barrel (also super enjoyed).
I am now toying with where to next. I don't have any Irish whisky at all but I do have buffalo trace and like that (next sentence explains why I mentioned that).
So I am torn. Do I go Rye next or Irish??? As I just dropped a little more than expected I don't really want to do more than R500-R600 at this stage any recommendations in this range and also Rye or Irish next? Thanks all as always!

Haha nope none of them, just recently dipped my toes into this world!Have you tried Campbeltown? Springbank 10/Kilkerran 12/Glen Scotia Double Cask are worth exploring.
Edit: Loved Red Breast 12 when I tried it, didn't like Green Spot, Am I odd?
