I love a peaty whisky and am looking at that Smokehead. Any recommendations?

Smokehead is a decent blend if you're looking for something else, but that price isn't far off from Laphroaig Select, Ardbeg 10 or Laphroaig 10.

Anyone purchase from the web launch of the Three Ships Blended Fino Cask Finish? Looks like the website crashed.
I managed to get in 4 purchases but have I only received confirmation for three bottles so far.

Fantastic stuff!!!

I'm heading down to CT for 2 weeks - with all the talk here about Bains/3 Ships, I was thinking about visiting the distillery for one of their tours?
I've seen they are R350 - has anyone been on these? Is it worth it?

I did the tour on Friday. It was fantastic. Worth every bit of the price and then some.

Fantastic stuff!!!

Can confirm got some of one of those bottles ;), it's very good. Thanks for sharing! Was fun meeting you :).

Was a great evening as it was a whisky tasting for the Macallan core range, really liked the Macallan 15 but a sneaky smokey monkey (sadly it doesn't seem like they want to bring it to South Africa! It's really great stuff) and this really stole the show.

Was great meeting you, too, and it was a really memorable evening.

Saw this 42 y/o bottle over the weekend, wonder if it's any good though

Really? No one? Not even a "No"?

You were a few days late (Page 216):

I opened the Jameson IPA last night and had a couple of toots. To be honest, I’m very much on the fence as it had such an unusual quality that you’d be forgiven for thinking you are drinking a bourbon rather than a traditional malt/grain blend. It’s smooth enough, and I found a dash of water more to my taste.

I love an IPA, but this had nothing to suggest it had any hoppy influence at all.

But no and it's available everywhere it seems.

Thanks. Then I shall trundle over to a brick and mortar somewhere and get my grubby paws on a bottle. I like IPA, and I like bourbon too.

It'll be interesting to get your opinion on it. I just can't get away from the bourbon taste in my mouth and mind. I haven't touched it since I wrote that post, maybe Ill have another dram this evening just to make sure :p
