Yeah it's quite sad though I was very surprised to see we got Macallan classic cut (which is still too expensive to even bother with).

Their Whisky buyer left that branch and they just made the admin lady the buyer as well....from the horse's mouth.

I was in Makro today and as stated before, their Whisky selection has gone for a total ball of schit.

I ended up buying wine only...but damn, what a wine indeed !!

I've given up on Makro for Whiskey. Maybe things will be better after the virus.

No it won't...it was kak long before the virus already.

They are buying for the mass market appeal now.

Luckily I can buy anything I want online or drive a few km's past Makro to Tops Durbanville.

I forgot about the Monday - Thursday alcohol thing, so this afternoon was crazy. But I ended up giving the collection a good start I think.

Only time it smells fishy is when enjoyed with smoked fish.

Doesn't smell like fish, it smells like fresh rubber/shoes. It must be the most disappointed I've ever been in a drink in my entire life - seriously. And I made a cinnamon whisky the other day.

I think it's most likely that somehow your bottle got corked. It does have a nice leather note to it so maybe that's the rubber? For me, I have an unopened bottle and it's probably the cheapest bottle that I really highly regard. A small example is I got a sample of Ardmore Traditional Cask which was bottled at 46% and retailed about £30 (R600). Three Ships 10 takes those flavours and dials them up to 11. I could easily see Three Ships 10 selling well at the £50 mark (in the UK if people knew it. But I'm just a fanboy .

I know @MightyQuin wasn't too fond of the 10 either though.
