Oh and then this guy called Andy scribbled on the bottle. I think he works there

Andy is such a fantastic person. When we went to the distillery for a tour, he also suddenly walked in while we were doing their amazing tasting.

He just started chatting to everybody like we were all just friends around a braai. Also signed all our bottles, especially grateful that he signed my 2 bottles of Bain's 18yo etc.

@BartSimpson and @morkhans should remember that Saturday vividly as well... ;)

Indeed - his joining was not that accidental as I had let him know we would be around. But spot on, he really is a fantastic ambassador for the brand and an all round nice guy!

I've started making my own biltong, and for a hoot I added a teaspoon of Octomore to one of the slices - people couldn't get enough of it!!!

Making my 3rd batch today and I added a tablespoon of Talisker, will report back on the results.

Asking for a friend: does anyone know of a shop stocking Lasanta, in the Blouberg area please? Poor chap can't seem to find any and nearly ordered a bottle for R1,000!

You don't have to "ask for a friend", that's a properse nice whisky, that one. If you ask me, it hits far nicer than most single malts in that price class, and more.

I agree, which is why I have a few stashed safely (#screwlockdown), and convinced my mate in the Cape to find some. Order duly placed.

There's something about the deep, warm sweetness of the Lasanta that just tickles my fancy. I love me a peat bomb, but man, that Lasanta has to be my all-time favourite dram. It's just plain effortless.

It's beautiful one....

Now I want one
