Apart from that, it sounds like an awesome Whisky.

You're very lucky. I only have a sample...
I'm sitting with this in my basket now, ready to pre-order. Apparently the one to get from Diageo's latest 2020Special Releases. AND it's a Rum Cask....
But ROE and shipping and VAT & Duties = R 2 820..........

It is extremely unlikely that it will ever get here due to limited releases.I'd just wait the extra long period it takes for South Africa to get these, will likely end up being 1100~ here.
Pretty damn happy with the 2007 release, feels way more punchy. The grassy peat is very present. Will see what happens when the 2007 opens up a bit. Still a favourite.

And I seriously doubt something that costs GBP 74 excl. VAT retail in Europe, will cost R1 100 in South Africa.
The bottle in that link you posted, is GBP 70...not GBP 85. So R1400 would make sense if distro price to SA is taken into consideration.https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/p/51715/cragganmore-2006-12-year-old-special-releases-2019 was available here for R1400 and £85 in the UK.

We've seen time and time again that we in SA is seen as the arse end of the Whisky market by certain distilleries like Ardbeg and Laphroaig. If you want special releases, you mostly have to go and get it yourself.
Even place like Whisky Brother, voted best online retailer of the year world wide, gets the finger from Ardbeg...
