It was aged in an ex-Rhum Caroni barrel for 6 years in France.

Did a tasting of the Port Charlotte 10 year this evening. Wow, not overpowering smoke, just very well balanced definitely one to add to the wish list.

You need to get a bottle of this to diversify from all the three ships/Bains you posted the other day. Or were u just posting the three ships/Bains collection on its own?

I think you mean you prefer bourbon over Scotch or Irish. Personally I would rather have a Three Ships 5 year old which is a lot cheaper, or Jameson’s, Chivas or Monkey Shoulder which you can get in the same price bracket.

I’ve not got a lot of experience with bourbon but I do have a bottle of Jack and Buffalo Trace in the house that I use for cocktails. Bourbon always reminds me of bazooka joe chewing gum, and is probably why I’ve always referred to it as “children’s whiskey”.

But each to their own. I just prefer the real stuff
