Seeing how most of you are somewhat of the connoisseur in whiskey, how about a few suggestions?
What I currently drink Irish whiskey, Jameson & Tulamore Dew.
Recently had a taste of Paddy at a buddy's place & didn't find it bad at all.
Used to have a taste for the bourbons in my "drinking days" but that's all gone now.
What would you suggest if going by current whiskey palate?

If you want something a step up but still in the same world, wait for a Redbreast 12 special. Checkers has had it for about R650 but I'd say R700 is an ok price.

In terms of Scotch, you'd probably want to try something on the sweeter side, like Glenmorangie 10 (R400~ on special).

In terms of local, I'd say you should have a bottle of Bains. I would also recommend trying Three Ships 5 (R200~), if you like that then the whole world of peated whisky can open up to you.

The Naked Grouse has been renamed to the Naked Malt.
So pick up the old bottle for your collection while you can :)

@axsis
Thanks, will read up on the Redbreast.
Have had Glenmoranjie, still undecided.
Not having a liking to Bains, haven't tried Three Ships yet.
