I'm extremely proud of my Dutch ancestry...but somewhere something Irish happened. I'm sure of it !!

This does hit the Spot indeed. Cannot really compare it to the others of which the Blue was my favorite. Some raisins and Marsala sweetness. And also some peppery spiciness. Not too shabby, Nige.

How embarrassing for the brand. I would not drink any of that kak, even if they were giving it away for free...

GOT fans obviously have no taste in TV, but they at least have tast in Whisky it seems.

Can't help you with the Dutch, I'm almost a complete Irishman, and I don't get this stuff they call whisky.

As with many Irish things, my name included, the added "e" makes something special.

I don't understand the hate, there's a recipe for all whiskies. Some people even put Coke in their Islay's.

Terrible Whisky is terrible Whisky...facts. There is world wide consensus about this travesty that JW bottled to cash in on the GoT nonsense...and it has backfired terribly.

PS. Having a once of Smokey Cokey has absolutely nothing to do with drinking terrible Whisky...so not sure what was attempted with that comment.

You should try an Ardbeg 10 Old Fashioned....or a Laphroaigh Whisky Sour. Absolutely amazing. @morkhans and @ginggs can attest to that.

I prefer to try for myself, but to be fair there were quite a few riding the GOT bandwagon. I'm not saying the WW was magnificent, but with some ice and a dash of water it was passable. Better than a lot of other blends in fact. Did you try it and what with?

I guess I just can't be doing with someone else telling me what I like or don't like. It's nothing but snobbery. Especially when you may or may not have a few debatable tastes of your own.

Sure I enjoy both cocktails and I'm sure I've posted me enjoying both of those on this thread. I usually take a whisky made for mixing though rather than waste the good stuff, but as I said, each to their own. And for me, Coke and a good Islay, no thanks. Totally pointless, I'd much rather have it on it's own.

Should we not just all be enjoying what we enjoy? Surely we can't all enjoy the same stuff. Someone posted that Toki the other day and said it was nice. Jibbers, the worst stuff I've tasted in a long time but he likes it, good on him.

Sorry bud, but whisky snobbery is like a red rag to a bull for me. We all love our whisky, thankfully not all the same stuff and style though.

Really not trying to argue, your contribution here is massive and I really enjoy it. Maybe just best to ignore me and move on, but I had to get that off my chest :)

No worries mate...I fully get where you are coming from and to each his own in this very subjective arena.

And if I am perceived as a Whisky snob, it does not bother me at all. You should see me when it comes to Rum...10 x worse....

PS> Bulls cannot see color...it is just the movement of the rag that irritates them...

Sláinte.....

Finally got around to trying these 2 this evening, both brilliant and typical Ardbeg - no water needed.
Out of the 2 would have to give it to the Uigeadail , what a dram and well worth the price. Glad it seems to be back in stock now
