most welcome email spam I've received in a long while:
I'm really eyeing that Springbank one but I don't want to fall in love with what I can't have. I ain't in high school anymore.

Springbank, Hazelburn, Longrow & Kilkerran are very polarizing whiskies, people either love them or hate them. Rather try it now and know if you're going to be on the lookout in the future even if you can't find these specific releases.

Good enough reasoning.

I am still waiting on my Springbank 12yo 2017 to come in many months later (May 19) via Copper Monkey but keep getting the "we're trying to get it from the suppliers" spiel. Pity, as I picked up a Glendronach 15 for next to nothing from them without issue.

If I could get hold of the Kilkerran heavily peated at a reasonable price I would certainly leap at it. Bummed I missed out on the batch 3 ballot

I've got 3(Batch 4) I won in an auction sitting in storage in the UK, if none of the Friday Whisky Mafia want any them then you're welcome to a bottle when they arrive. My 3 months of free storage is coming up soon, I'm going to see what's good in this month's auction and then I'll get it shipped.

There's no way Liquidity has any, rather ask for your money back. What's next to nothing for a Glendronach 15?

R1100ish shipped to Durban. It's still on their site for R1200. They also have the Single & Single Glencadam for R1054.

They magically said, after that post, they can source a bottle in a few weeks.

Hi

The supplier said it would be available in a couple of weeks. This is the rep that calls on us. I think I will call one of the higher ups on Monday and see if they can offer me a definitive answer or explain what the heck is going on.

thanks

I picked up a Glendronach 15 for R950 the other day. Still more available, Gauteng unfortunately.

That S&S was his first release, @BartSimpson knows more about it, it was something around 3800 bottles released but not a good release of Yossie's.

I really live in the wrong city, here. R1100 would be about the price if I got TCG to deliver it, anyway. Far cheaper than Whisky Brother etc (which was a nice R1600).

I'm guessing at this point they're looking/waiting for new bottlings of the Springbank if that even exists. I have no clue. If you say that won't happen, I'll get them to change it for the Springbank 15 or get the Arran Cask Strength. Anything. It's been an hour since the last delivery of alcohol and I am going through withdrawals. :crying:

If you're in JHB look me up and you can take it off me, I only bought it cos I thought someone would want it and then no one was interested. It's gonna end up staying in the cupboard for years.

Go for the Springbank 15, I prefer it to the 18. The Arran Bothy and Bodega are really good and great value for the ABV around 55% but the Springbank is special.

The Arran is great. Personally, I don't rate the Springbanks. Different strokes and all that.

The Springbanks need air, more than just time in the glass. Get the bottle down to 2/3 and give it a month or 2. The Springbanks have a strange funkyness that doesn't appeal to a lot of people.

I totally agree on the different strokes, the more a Whisky has a distinct character the more likelyhood of differing opinions.
