Whistle-blower: I'm not racist

You need fish in your diet, sir.
And who the **** are you, sir? A brief intro and some contribution to the discussion would not hurt. But then that's not a requirement for someone that is just trolling :D

okay, i admit that sometimes there are important people who need to get somewhere in a rush. ALso sometimes, people being transported are important and their safety needs to be taken care of when they drive around. BUT, with these convoys, its the arrogance that they display when driving. Like that guy who was driving along and had a gun poitned at his family. Thats just unacceptable. There is no need to force people off the road and to drive on thier asses. Maybe if they had behaved differently from the get go, people would not be so anti? other than that, I hope one of these guys is involved in an accident and dies a flaming death of pain!!

and you the panzy that the cheer-leader girls beat up everyday :D
OohK! I see where you are going with this. Count me out. I should be ashamed of myself for having even indulged you this far. :D

What about the idiot who won't move out the way? Does it hurt to let the convoy pass and then carrying on your merry way/drive? What about an idiot that actually chases after a convoy just so he can prove a point?

I meant he could have been seen as threatening and therefore couls have been shot at.
The elected officials do carry a higher security risk than normal civilians hence the VIP protection arrangement.
A provincial transport minister? I can understand a president having a high security detail but not a lowly provincial minister. What a waste of money, our security bill for the "special" VIP's must be astronomical around the country. It also probably explains why government are not aware that there is a crime problem. The idiot was going to a meeting. There are a lot of business people whos time is far more valuable then this twit and I don't see them speeding to meetings. A meeting is not an emergency.

Can people not see that Cele has achieved what he was trying to do by calling the whistle-blower a racist. He has successfully polarised the white and black communities around this. At the time when the motorist took the video (which was dangerous), he would not have known whether the dignatory in the vehicle was black or white because of the darkened windows on these convoys. The standard behaviour of politicians in this country (black and white) is to deflect the blame/attention away from themselves and onto someone else. They will tell people something else that someone else did wrong, and immediately the focus is off them.

Racially polarising the country suits the current government as it gets them votes. How many black people are going to vote for a white person while this is going on, regardless of the political party policies or their own well being. Corruption, nepotism, incompetence and power mongering are eating away at this wonderful nation to the point that it is starting to look more like a rubbish dump then the beautiful place it is. The previous government were no angels in this regard but that does not excuse the current government.

Idiots who don't move out of the way of a convoy, ambulance or fire engine are just as bad as the people that abuse these situations. That does not excuse abuse of the situation. Both parties are wrong. For a convoy to fly along at 160km/h is extremely dangerous. Unless there is a legitimate reason for this behaviour, action should be taken. What happened if an innocent motorist was killed by either of these idiots?

And driving miss daisy at 60km/h along a busy freeway could pose a security threat.

I also don't see how race has got anything to do with it. I'm just questioning the wisdom of chasing after an armed police convoy, duh!

Whats wrong with the blue light flashing and the car doing 120/130KM/H ? or switching it on when someone wont move across? Thats what the police do!

I am with you here. The problem with these provincial politician types is that they actually believe they are important. Which they are not. The rather lovely term "ignoranus" mentioned in some other thread seems to apply to types like this Cele fellow - I think the term means a stupid *******!

Would you like lemon with that, sir?

well if they are splashing out the cash why not let them take a chopper ride if the freeways are so busy ...

A police/political car has got NO right to force civilian a car off the road for just any reason. Only if the VIP's life is in danger.

Ans as for Fastlane hogs .. they are to consumed by themselvs that they will not move from the fast lane untill they have reached their turnoff

Road users in SA need to see a true highway/freeway in action "and go and learna few tricks "... "Das Autobahn" the fast lane is ONLY to over take a slower car.
You get fined if you stay in the fast lane to long

Don't know if you are being sarcastic here or not. If not, no one is saying drive at 60km/h, just not at 160km/h. There is a happy medium in between.

Appologies, misunderstood. Yes, the driver taking the video is as much, if not more of an idiot as his actions were extremely dangerous, not to Cele, but to the general public. At least his dumb actions brought this behavour out in the open which will hopefully (unlikely) result in it stopping. The problem is that Cele is deflecting the attention away from himself by complaining about the motorist. Its like he is saying that the other guy did something wrong so he did nothing wrong which is ludicrous.

Escaping the Blue Light Menace

One day I went to pound some lengths at the local swimming club. Also there was the VIP Protection Unit - learning to swim! They were clearly not progressing very well in their endeavour.

So, if ever this lot chases you - head for water! My doggie could outpace them!

Ignorant and an arsehole, but you got the gist. :) And yep, Cele certainly appears to qualify.

I don't have a problem with the 120/130 km/h part except that we have to rewrite the laws.
What is the problem with the blue lights? I'd think they are supposed to warn other motorist well in advance that a police convoy in aproaching.
