There were actually quite a few relatively modernised tribes in Africa (especially what is now Nigeria) who worked with metals, cloths, had social structure etc.

They were running around with sticks and no clothes because they had not yet been subjected to the Europeans' way of living (surviving)?

It was more of a tongue-in-cheek reply to Morgoth asking for black inventions. :D Please, don't take it seriously.

The majority of Europeans and Asians live in industrialised countries. It's quite obvious why there are no inventions coming out of Africa.

Do you think Africa was this big a fsck-up before the colonialists came?

Indeed. Living in the Sun off the land with an abundance of food and shelter - no need to have ever worried or put plans in place to ensure survival and procreation.

ok explain my this, the Inca's and the Europeans developed basically apart from eachother up to the 1400's when Bizzaro owned em all, so did the blacks in Africa. tell me why did the Inca's and Europeans evolve into a far superior race and africa stayed behind without initiative?

Perhaps different types of leaders with different ideas? A necessity to expand and take over other tribes for domination? Competition over land for survival? I really don't know.

Early Africa was actually pretty successful - different to what you guys would think I'd imagine.

The blacks moved back down from central Africa because of competition, the zulu's and the Xhosa's weren't exactly friends but their warfare never took any advancement beyond throwing each other with a stick until Shaka came ( with knowledge his adopted father taught him, who were taught by the white man) and show them O YAE we can use a object to block sticks ( a shield)! and we can actually stab people to death instead of standing in the middle like a idiot eating all the arrows.
Don't kid yourself to think there were no war, there were no initiative from any of them though other then hope for the best.

Of course there was war and disputes in Africa and it doesn't matter what they used or how they fought. The question is whether it was as big a fsck up or not. According to Wikipedia, Africa was moving along (albeit a slow pace) just fine - certainly not as much poverty, starvation etc. that we have today. They didn't know about technology and advancements and didn't need them until the Europeans came - whom had been advancing for quite some time before out of necessity.

We know the European way is better, but Europeans shouldn't just expect Africans, after a very short time of contact with Europeans, to be able to live the way Europeans have been for thousands of years. Oppression certainly doesn't help in this regard - it only delays things further.

at the pace afrika was moving we had to wait for sea lions to be more advanced then we are.

You must remember that lots of the f-ups in africa are a result of Europeans coming in and messing up the country stealing resources and then buggering off..... kinda like what the yanks have just done to Iraq.

At the end of the day its all about being Educated(broken record) or more advanced/civilised as it was put earlier..

all those factors can be mentioned, but lets say Africa was still a colony then we would have been better off, I guarantee you the last road that was paved in Kenya was when the English still colonized it,
We should blame the pope though If he didn't prohibit Spain to colonize Africa then we would be better off,

Fact of the matter : the blacks got most of Africa handed to them on a silver plate when they got independence and they lived in a minor complex to **** it up ever further.

You logic is plausible to explain the wealth of trading Europen nations,
such as Holland, Britain and France but it doesn't explain the inadequacy
of African progress, unless the Europeans mined and farmed those
countries dry. Which they didn't.

European is different, not necessarily better.

Saying this as a RSA and EU citizen.
