I don't think they are starving, they are just opportunists.
Have you ever seen anyone starving in SA? I haven't. Some of the "poorest" people have the fattest arses.

Fat people are always hungry, because their bodies are used to being fed with lots of food. Those hunger pains have nothing to do with need, they just have to do with their bodies expectations, derived from previous habbits. Three meals a day is madness :D
