Who hasn't jailbroken their iPad 1 or 2

No, BestBuy is one of the biggest shops in the USA. You will need a credit card (Or possibly paypal)
They will not accept SA wallet systems.

Rather than trying to save $1, just use wildtwig, or the other SA voucher sites mentioned

VCpay is not a wallet system like payU/miMoney/eBucks.
It is a virtual credit card backed up by Mastercard which can be used on any website that accepts MasterCards.
National or International.

Anyway, best buy *delivers only to the US, so it is useless for South Africans;
If I'm correct, US sites that sell iTunes vouchers, sell the physical vouchers. The south africa sites sell virtual vouchers (emailed to you).

* International orders may be shipped to street addresses in the U.S., U.S. Virgin Islands and Guam, along with AFO/FPO mailing address. [http://www.bestbuy.com/]

Edit: Best Buy does allow Digital Delivery :)

For iTunes Gift Vouchers:

Why not pay for them for what they are worth:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchp...p=&qp=&list=n&iht=y&usc=All+Categories&ks=960

PS When signing up, read the instructions - they actually give non-US residents an address and phone numbers to sign up with - this is for use of Digital Delivery only.

I believe the address was:
10780 KEMPWOOD DR
HOUSTON TX 77043
USA
Phone: 281-742-5268

Only to US buyers, not international buyers any longer..
I bought from them just the other day. Please read my edit above.

EDIT: I see they added zip code for creating new account, but using the above address it allowed me to create a new account with them as well as add an SA VISA credit card as payment option.

Still seems to work for me.

I use wildtwig or evopoints. Wildtwig is cheaper at the moment though, bought a couple of $10 cards last week for R95 each. Not bad at all and instant delivery.

Local is lekker and all that ,)

Oh, and I haven't jb my ipad 2 either (I'm on 5.1). I just can't be arszed spending a day working out how to and the benefits are minimal imho. I had to jb an old iphone 3g last week so I could unlock it from a foreign network after it was 'accidentally' upgraded to the latest firmware on itunes, and it was a complete pain trying to sift through the millions of pages of info to see which one is relevant and up to date.

Got there in the end with redsn0w and ultrasn0w and loading the original ipad baseband. And it now runs like a dog with a broken leg on 4.2.1 (iirc) because the hardware can't keep up. It's only the wifes ipod for the gym mind you, so no big problems.

So ja, not worth the hassle I say.

Try installing the following repository: repo.insanelyi.com/

Then search for and install fakeclockup as well as removebackground. That should fix the dogs broken leg..

Nice, thanks for the tip. I'm out of the country until end of May now (with specific instructions to my wife not to plug iphone into computer) but I'll find this thread/give you a shout when I get home if you don't mind.

Cydia was ultra slow. Almost unusable trying to use the type/search function, but I'll sort it out then. Cheers.

I use the kindle app often and have pdf magazines and books in there, If I remove the jailbreak can I still read my pdf stuff?

Also to go back to legit, do I just backup everything, reset all settings and apply the iOS5.1 update?
Sure, all your apps still work as normal. To go back to legit, I do a restore to 5.1 from iTunes.

A lot of people suggest restoring from DFU mode to be ultra-safe when unjailbreaking.

I did it recently on an ipad 2, worked without issues. Restored ios 5.1 from previously downloaded ipsw file, then restored from ipad 1 backup to get apps etc back.

A work friend apparently downloaded a program that generated iTunes vouchers?

But he lost it, he used $90 by generating codes.

Not sure how he bought $90 worth of apps , he showed me one email from apple confirming his purchase.

But, third-party reports have confirmed that the voucher codes being sold by the Chinese hackers are in fact redeemable in iTunes (not sure how they verified this without exposing themselves to criminal charges however). So what is actually happening here? I see two likely scenarios: either the Chinese hackers have managed to penetrate Apple's internal network and/or iTunes gift card database and are directly stealing activated numbers before they can be used, or they are simply using stolen credit card numbers to purchase the cards.

I jailbroke mt iPad 2, and if the appstore in SA remains as crap as they are, then I will jailbreak my NewiPad too. Admittedly, the apps are rediculously cheap, and i support buying all apps, but when your ID is south african on the appstore, then there is only crap n sale.

I love the US software market, you can buy anything you want.

Since I jailbroke my iPad, it has been a dream. I can install ANYTHING for mahala! It is much more customizable and you can enrich its features much more via Cydia.

Ofcourse, people will give you crap but it is almost like an Intel pc user....INTEL INSIDE, IDIOT OUTSIDE...

Learn how the software operates and then it is fool proof on warranty! My jailbroken iPad has been fixed and replaced under warranty in SA. No it was hardware issues with the mic...not caused by software :-)

Eventhough mine is a week old today, I still don't see the point in doing a Jailbreak. What I will say though is that you can always create an account in the US Store(just use a New York or Vermont address), and then you can select between thousands of apps that you don't need a credit card for. Also you can always buy Itunes vouchers, bought my first last week, the process was easy and my bank even called to confirmed that i made the purchase.
