Who is capped?

what should i do basically.stay on the whole night right? and not disconnect.
i know 2moro il shut the pc down.then when i restart thats when il be able to tell if im capped :o
 
No, Telkom only calculate capping once a day at 24:00. You can go over your limit now, and disconnect + reconnect again if you want.

If you are disconnected at 24:00 (or if your 24 hour session expires and cant reconnect) you know you are capped, if not... you got another 24 hours to do what you want.

so basically when i reconnect tomorrow after shuting down 2nyt,i should hold my fingers crossed i get logged in :)
 
yes, everytime you are able able to login, after you went over your cap you have a chance of not authenticating. If you do, for that 24 hour period you have access irrespective, until Telkom does their capping run again midnight.
 
woah thats insane man! :)

but what i dont understand is say for example - right now i know i am over my cap.so im allowed to do what i want till telkom does thier capping again at midnight.now if i shutdown and tomoro i try and log in and im succesful,this means im not capped right! but WHY - is this that relaxed capping policy telkom offer? and how the heck do they choose who gets capped? mainly the guys pulling gigs a day?
 
Yes, 2GB/3GB depending on account is only a softcap, the hardcap comes with regards to the Relaxed capping policy.

Nobody really knows how it works. It is really a random figure in my experience. People have pulled around 35GB from 3GB accounts this month, friend of mine 21GB, some on the forum as low as 6GB. I have had DSL now for 2 months and have not been capped, but if you push to far they would cap.

I dont believe its based on howmuch you do in a day, because as I said before in another thread when i got ADSL I updated Steam and everything else after reinstalling Windows and I did around 4GB in just over 30 hours. I wasnt capped so if Telkom are working on a projected figure for capping I shouldve been capped.
 
Ok so do you still know of people on 2 gig account who are capped at 2 gigs?

cauz my friend is on 3 gig account and was capped at 3.6 gigs.He aint with TelkomInternet
 
yes, TelkomInternet is the only ISP that does relaxed capping so that is why he was capped at 3.6GB

i shut down last night.when i woke this morning i tried to log in.I got a username/password error invalid on domain.i thought i was capped :( then i tried a 5th or 6th time and i logged in :D and it wasnt me making typos :)
 
its their Authentication system that sucks. Happens all the time to me.
 
You wont be able to login via ur router. It will say pap authentication failed.
