Who wears spectacles?

Been wearing glasses since std 9 (17). I'm 33 now.

I've never had the chance to buy myself a cool pair of Oakley's sunglasses because I'm near-sighted.

I do have transition lenses however, but it's not the same as sunglasses.

only started wearing glasses this year.I'm shortsighted due to book reading and playing too many PC games :p

i don't like wearing glasses, the tiniest spec of dirt on the lens irritates my eyes and when there is something bright behind me there is light reflection on the side of my glasses.really irritating when your trying to drive.

I do. Mainly contact lenses though. Although my optometrist recommends glasses to keep me eyes healthy :)

But I am also losing my hearing too ... this really sucks big time! :(

Said I have some kind of nerve damage. I have tinnitus 24/7 on top of it all. :(

I wore glasses from Std 7, I think. Tried contacts, but they didn't work too well for me. They were the weighted contacts, so when my eyes dried out a bit my vision got blurry.

Had laser surgery done at the beginning of the year. Worth every cent!! Would do it again in heart beat. It is SO awesome to walk around in the rain and still see!

i would do laser surgery on my eyes if it wasn't so expensive and if i wasn't so scared of it :(

Started wearing specs in '86.

Top edged a hook shot while playing cricket against SWA. Woke up with a crack cheek bone. Right eye gave me problems from then onwards... Have now got multi-focals!

Been wearing glasses for over 18 yrs now ... yes I started young and no they are not coke bottles!!!!
i've only ever tried contacts 1ce just cant get the hang of sticking something in my eye gives me
the hibi jibies but yeah ur gonna love being able to see better specially at night or even in the dark;)

Been wearing glasses since Standard 2 and contacts since Standard 6. Forced my mother to get me contacts because I "didn't want to start big school with glasses"! Now I wear glasses more often than contacts, just because it is easier to put glasses on than it is to put contacts on.

Yep, I'm no longer going to be a terrror on the roads during the night. :p

Picking them up at lunchtime, I'm actually quite excited, life is going to be much easier now that I'll not be straining to see all the time. :D

After someone asked me a couple of times to retreive contact lenses that had slipped behind her eye, I think I'll forego contacts. Glasses should make me look slightly more clever anyway, so I'm cool with them. :p

oh boy my glasses are quite thick. i've been wearing glasses for about 25 years now. have had many many frames and i love getting the fancy frames. don't care what the price is i will buy them if they are pink or purple lol. have donated many many frames for the poor. give them to my optometrist and he sends them to where ever they need to go.

Have astigma I wear glasses or my brain makes things up.

Also excellent for hangovers.

Glasses off, feel horrible, put them on and the hangover vanishes :)

Well let us know how it goes.

The first few days are weird. Getting used to the lack of depth perception, tunnel vision etc. is a strange experience. In the beginning I was battling to get my car key into the lock because I couldn't tell how far away it was :o. After a few days you get used to it though.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWESOME!

WOW.

:D
LOL I don't recall getting that excited about specs. :p

Actually I'm reminded of a friend of mine who used to debate. He bought himself a set of frames with a plain flat lens in it. They didn't improve his vision at all and he had no need for glasses. He got them to make himself look more intelligent. It was hilarious.
