Who is cancelling their adsl line or thinking of doing so in the next month or so?

I wish I could but I can't.
Even at the current rates it remains the most cost effective method for me to stay connected which I need for my business
But most definitely will continue to fight for more reasonable prices.

2 Calls per weekend (on a good line *touch wood*) = R80
Total cost = R459

192k ADSL = R308
Phone line = R92
10GB Account = R560
Total cost = R960

Hmmm ... tough call ...
64k extra speed and the *always on* factor versus half the price ...

it's unshaped but they probably STILL shaping Skype even on ISDN

ISDN and 56k are uncapped 2 - soon Telskum are going to start capping those i guess - there is nothing else left to cap.

maybe normal phone calls - mom i have to go now my Phone cap is going to run out...

I will be cancelling. It was good while it lasted, and the old pricing was just acceptable for me. I won't get shafted by Telkom anymore. As a bonus I get to cancel my phone line as well. Now I just need to switch from Vodacom to MTN.

As long as people are willing to pay these prices, telkom will keep charging them. No amount of talk on this forum will change that. And ICASAs uselessness seems on par with the rest of government.

What have we achieved in the last 6 months ??? A 500 % increase ? Not what I had in mind. Screw Telkom, I won't ever be their whore again.

3Gb cap 200 (or 250ish for openproxy)
~ R560 a month.

plus the convenience of a 24/7 account that I can use all day without worrying about call cost?

I'll pay the ~R150 more than my good old dial up thanks!

Only just got my home one so I will stay for now but I still have to keep my dialup for some of the services that ADSL can't handle

Dial-up is analog, so they can't measure it or else they would probably try.

I'm not cancelling but switching from axxess to openweb and only because OpenWeb have 30GB local access on all their accounts. Plus they were nice enough to provide me with a free proxy service previously (thanks to MrBeep)so that also counted in their favour...
