Why Africa needs GMO crops

It’s also now being proven that non-GMO , utilizing natural fertilizing and insects, provide higher yields than the GMO seeds from the likes of Monsanto/Beyer

If you reject the science behind GMO's then I put you into the same category and anti-vaxxers and flat Earthers.

Like everything, one needs to look at the bigger picture..
GMO seeds are engineered to withstand the hectic pesticides and high nitrogen fertilizers, so the farmers go nuts and ineffect supply us poisoned produce and destroy the ground.

GMO is wonderful in theory, but the management and regulation is the damn wild west

GMO seeds self destruct, and are Roundup resistant with the crops showing high levels of glyphosate.
It’s a ridiculous mess, with almost all of South Africa’s main crops being GMO.

Then you get the good guys like Eureka Mills threatened to remove their Non-GMO labeling off their flour packs, or PicknPay won’t stock their products. Ridiculous!

What? Actually the seeds don't self destruct, so not really sure where you go that. Also roundup is a pesticide designed to kill weeds, sometimes these weeds are the same makeup as the crops, therefore the crop is roundup resistant due to this reason. Kill the weed keep the crops safe. Also where are you getting it that the crops are covered in glyphosate? Even if it is, you wash your fruit and vegetables before consuming, do you think "organic" is pesticide free? If so you need your head examined.
Good remove their products, I would prefer we move on with science instead of regressing, I'd prefer the cheaper, hardier and more nutritious goods in store, which 99% of the time is the GMO or non-organic.

In a way, I've been in GMO my whole life, as my father was a research scientist for what is now Syngentia.

I think the major problem with these crops (apart of course that mega-mon-crop farming is extremely bad for the biosphere) is the associated pesticide/herbicide industry which is making a mockery of the natural insect population.

Would you like to live on an eventual sterile planet? Or your kids?

Would you like to live on a planet where dinosaurs roam alongside humans, and superheroes fly around in the sky?
Because that scenario is just as likely (and just as fictional) as yours....

The farmers go nuts and over fertilize the ground with Nitrogen. That bad for ground. Bad ground bad for any future crops. GMO or Non-GM.
NonGM farmers are threatened and shut down due to their nongm crops also having gm crops due to wind.

There is a LOT more happening than just putting a GM seed in the ground

So you are saying that over fertilizing with high levels of Nitrogen has absolutely zero effect on soil fertile longevity?

Just wow

LazyLion I am NOT arguing against genetic modification.
It’s the lack of long sight around the additional practices around that seed in the ground , that I have issue with

You're aware that you breathe nitrogen right? And no they don't go mad over fertilizing, if anything it's the organics who do as they've got to try pick up yield so you can feel or fluffy buying them at ridiculously marked up prices.
