why buy an audi?

I havent had any problems with BMW. Car went in for a service last month to replace the boot lock. Car came back with all 4 brakes replaced, they mentioned they saw it was needing replacing.

Now that is service, never ever did i or any of my mates fight with BMW to replace anything. They do it, no questions asked. They never ever questioned my driving style or anything.

Now thats a motorplan ;)
 
I think it's pretty much common knowledge that BMW's service is second to none. I will agree that they set the benchmark in this regard...
 
Yup, their service is what makes you want to buy a BMW.

thing is, previous car (toyota runx) also had motorplan, but i remember them calling me at the 45000k service, that conversation follows:

toyota dude: sir, your car's brakes are worn. should we replace them?
imajin: yes, sure!
toyota dude: alright, that will cost R1200 extra, how will you be paying - cash or credit card?
imajin: errm, eish, well... on second thought... :o

Had that exact same conversation with Honda yesterday. Even the price was almost the same.

Then how will you know what other brands are really like? I've owned a Mazda, an Opel and now I'm trying Honda. They've all been good cars, but I like to try out different manufacturers. Next time I might try Audi if they lower their prices by 10% (which I doubt they will do) :)

Of course, VAG is far superior than the other brands, proven in majority of (well known) car magazines (ww)

Have you ever read you motorplan agreement ? it clearly states that anything involving 'braking' is not covered by motorplan.

I'm not sure that's true. Well, definitely not true of Renault, Audi and BMW's under motorplan. As I mentioned earlier the plan covers everything except tyres and fuel.

I believe Mercedes have a plan where the customer pays an incremental percentage of the service cost on a sliding scale which I think is a bliming cheek considering their vehicles are so expensive to begin with.

This may have changed but that used to be the case with them. Merc very over rated IMO...

dude, i was talking about ' Toyota's ' motorplan ;)

VAG,BMW & Merc cover everything under motorplan, and you right about MB charging a percentage, but from 2nd service onwards. MB & BMW are pathetic when it comes to taking care of your car when its at their premises. I had endless problems with them damaging my paint etc. (In the PTA region of course)

Well, that is because you don't have a maintenance plan - it is only a service plan...

The different manufacturers use different names for their "plans"... Audi = Freeway Plan, BMW = Motorplan, etc. In general there are two types of plans - Maintenance Plans and Service Plans...

Not sure what Toyota call it, but it just covers services, nothing extra.

Salesmen are really scaly about the wording and explanations when trying to sell cars, they intentionally try to make you believe that you don't need to pay for any maintenance when mean while you are only getting a service plan. :mad:

One needs to check all the wording wrt the Warranty and "Plan" quite carefully to know what you are actually getting :(

you got to be kidding me ?

Freeway plan, motorplan, service plan, all the same damn things, but every manufacturer might have their exclusions, like toyota with brake repairs not part of the 'motorplan or whatever plan they call it'. Warranty and ???plans are two different things.

btw,how many different cars did you own to come up to that conclusion ?

you just need to take it back 5 times before you are happy... :mad: BM service sucks... as does Merc, Renault, Volkswagen.

So far, no prob with Volvo or Audi.

I can only talk from my own experience. I've actually been impressed with Volvo's back up. My wife drives an A4 and the service levels from Sandton Audi were pretty good as well.

I will say that I'll never buy another Merc or BMW because of bad service...
