Why do people complain about load shedding

Why? Why are people complaining about load shedding even though eskom already warned in December of possible load shedding for the next two years? Do people just love complaining?
So if the people of South Africa follow your "shut the **** up" mentality, I'm sure the ANC government and the Eskom Directors would invite you to there circle.

What do you think the government and Eskom would have done to address these problems, if everybody just sat in a corner and accepted this positive , not a crisis issue, brought on us by Jan van Riebeeck?

Ok, let me ask anyone that is complaining this: what have you done to fix the issue?

Eskom is itself a victim of a political process. That organisation was once the lowest cost producer in the world with a massive surplus in generating capacity. Political meddling squandered its ability to maintain adequate capacity and rendered it dysfunctional.

By complaining loudly and vocally we aim to bring pressure to bear on the politicians, who depend on popular support for the jobs. The more noise we can make to drum up opposition to the pols, the better - at least while Eskom is still in the hands of the politicians.

Actually a good point, driving around at night I still see office blocks fully lit, car showrooms with lights blazing etc. Also realised in my household we could be doing more in terms of unplugging cellphone chargers and other unnecessary devices. I cut back on my pool pump to running it 2 to 3 times a week instead of everyday. Thinking about putting geysers on timers but haven't done that yet, although have switched one that's seldom used off. Still think there's more opportunity.

Here's the irony:

You're complaining about people complaining about eskom.
Congratulations, you've just created that which you were complaining about to begin with....

:p

1. Not voted ANC
2. My electrical account from the municipality is still the same amount as 2009, what does tell you? I've reduced the load a lot and am paying the same, despite the increases.

Hate cANCer
Gas installation done in kitchen for water and cooking
Solar geyser being installed this week.
Waiting for the promised prepaid meter for 3yrs now from cANCer.

It's my God given right to bitch about whatever I want to bitch about.

I enjoy it. It's called venting.

People that don't bitch are the one's that bottle it up inside & then one day they calmly go out, buy an AK-47 & mow down a primary school full of kids.

I'm sure you've bitched about something in your life before & some dude made a thread about it on a forum you're not aware of.

I didn't say you should "protest", loot or burn anything. That is your own way of thinking. I said that keeping on complaining doesn't make the issue any better, it just makes it seem worse than it is.

Yes, load shedding causes security issues, yes, it messes up traffic. But seriously, no one that people complain to can do anything about load shedding.

You think that is all that load shedding causes? :wtf:

Wake up and smell the roses.

because if EksDom could at least stick to their proposed load shedding timetables then it would be a different story, we would be prepared and can plan around it.
you must be one of those highly paid Eksdom employees they speak of, seeming that you sticking up for them
