I had a contract with cellc with 1gb data which largely went unused. I think the most I ever managed was 800mb or so. Just looked at data usage history and on vodacom its 800mb-1gb pretty consistently. Also people can actually call me now too, and I barely ever see "service calls only" etc anymore. I used to have to turn aeroplane mode on and off again to "connect" on cellc.

Why FNB selected Cell C as a partner

People who have tried Cell C with an unfavourable result will avoid FNB Mobile like the plague. Those minority who are still PRO Cell C after trying and are FNB clients will switch for the EBUCKS.
FNB clients who switch from their current network to FNB Mobile will be flooding the new FNB Mobile sub forum in the not too distant future with their hate and putrid for the silly decision which they made.

Sounds like what invariably happened with the Vodacom, MTN and Telkom sub forums. All networks have their satisfied and unsatisfied customers in somewhat equal amounts. No matter which network an MVNO chooses there will be the people dissing it. It just happens that all MVNOs so far have gone with Cell C because it's the only one who really entertains it and offers favorable rates. Unfortunately this means the same people are always either excluded or included. It's tough but that's how it is. If you want things to change put mass pressure on the likes of Vodacom and MTN to also offer attractive partnerships.

Don't know if this is a cell c technique but I've noticed my iPhone is always on 3g and my cheapie android is always on edge. regardless most problems occur when you're not setting your dongle to force hspa. cell c network is probably also busier since it is cheaper, except for Telkom which has a smaller footprint.
