Why FNB selected Cell C as a partner

They have been offering contracts on cell c network for long time already. It's nothing new. They just allowing now for prepaid users to join in the activities with incentives

And they already have the relationship!
With ebucks and a smart device I have a CellC simcard that gets loaded with 500mb data each month.
It wouldn't make sense for them to suddenly bring in another operator?

I just left Cell C because the data network is terrible. Not about to return.

I have the same sim. What I want to know is, can I port this number to FNB Connect and still receive the free 500MB data each month?

Still trying to work out where these "Aggressive rates" are. I'm on CellC prepaid. It would cost me more to go with FNB Connect for what I'm using.

The only benefit I suppose would be earning eBucks - and I wouldn't earn enough to "break even" when it comes to my current airtime spending.

Don't get it at all.

Oh okay... so it has nothing to do with Cell C needing cash and FNB being a bank and that they can now enjoy a mutually beneficial relationship?

Well if FNB can use their spare cash to get CellC going in the right direction this might work. Besides I think Vodacom and MTN probably hate the idea of FNB doing this. If it gets good reviews I might actually move from Vodacom after a decade of contracts.

That's one more network I cannot make use of... Cell C's network is terrible in East London (Vincent), and it has it's moments in Port Elizabeth.

I will still join FNB connect even know they will use cellc ,once you go full retard on ebucks there is no going back :P

If I spend R300 on fnb connect airtime/data I get a R200 makro voucher free :)

Haha! Yea I'm probably right there with you.

They selected CellC because they know that the users will never be able to use all their allocated data and call within the month. The Cell C network is that bad.
