I have PM'ed v3g, so hopefully he can pickup this issue again. Someone has stuffed up and it needs to be fixed.

I replied STOP to a Vodacom message a few days ago and received a "invalid instruction blah blah" error message back... I should have followed it up, but I just don't have the patience.

EDIT/ forgot to say, the message actually said to reply STOP to unsubscribe

WASPA needs to issue bigger fines. This is an obvious transgression. I get these all the time, no matter what I do. Luckily I can now blacklist anything containing "Vodacom23" so I'm not disturbed again at 2am.

I've mentioned this a zillion times, Vodacom is a network and does not abide to WASPA code of conduct as WASPA is for WASPS only. While Vodacom do have an affiliated WASP, these messages are coming direct from the network and not them. So WASPA is useless here.

No WASP in South Africa may change the sender from MSISDN, this can only be done by the network.

What worked for me on MTN and their spam on how to win a pc,4x4 or whatever at R7.50 per sms is that they have no casino/gambling license so the spam is illegal. All i did was record the conversation i had with them saying the above and if they persisted my contract will be cancelled forthwith as they are breaking the law. Voila no more spam.
