Remember that Africa has been exposed to the "New World" and the "new way of thinking" for considerably less time than that of Europeans - and the majority of that time, they/it have/has been exploited.
Europe was much wealthier than Africa long before 'the first ships even landed' here, so to speak. How do you explain that?
Elikia M’bokolo, April 1998, Le Monde diplomatique. Quote:"The African continent was bled of its human resources via all possible routes. Across the Sahara, through the Red Sea, from the Indian Ocean ports and across the Atlantic. At least ten centuries of slavery for the benefit of the Muslim countries (from the ninth to the nineteenth)." He continues: "Four million slaves exported via the Red Sea, another four million through the Swahili ports of the Indian Ocean, perhaps as many as nine million along the trans-Saharan caravan route, and eleven to twenty million (depending on the author) across the Atlantic Ocean
Demographics
The demographic effects of the slave trade are some of the most controversial and debated issues. Tens of millions of people were removed from Africa via the slave trade, and what effect this had on Africa is an important question. Walter Rodney argued that the export of so many people had been a demographic disaster and had left Africa permanently disadvantaged when compared to other parts of the world, and largely explains that continent's continued poverty

Maulana Karenga states that the effects of slavery where "the morally monstrous destruction of human possibility involved redefining African humanity to the world, poisoning past, present and future relations with others who only know us through this stereotyping and thus damaging the truly human relations among people of today." . He cites that it constituted the destruction of culture, language, religion and human possibility
European exploration of Africa began with Ancient Greeks and Romans, that explored and settled in North Africa. Fifteenth Century Portugual, especially under Henry the Navigator probed along the West African coast. Scientific curiosity and Christian missionary spirit soon were subordinated to mercantile considerations, including lucrative trafficking in enslaved persons.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_exploration_of_AfricaAttitudes to exploration of Africa
Many explorers felt that it was their duty to introduce Western civilisation and Christianity to "savage" black African peoples, and hence exploration was seen by most people during the post-Renaissance era as a useful expenditure of energy.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colonisation_of_AfricaThe Europeans possessed attitudes of superiority and a sense of mission. Khapoya compares and contrasts three colonial powers: the French, the British and the Portuguese. The French were able to accept an African as French, if they gave up their African culture and adopted French ways, even including marriage with a (white) French person. The British did not accept full equality even for an African adopting British ways, and disapproved of interracial marriage. The Portuguese were more tolerant than the British concerning mixed marriages, though still viewing full blooded Portuguese as superior. Knowledge of Portuguese language and culture and abandonment of traditional ways defined one as civilised.
In the aftermath of decolonisation, Africa displayed political instability, economic disaster, and debt dependence. Political instability occurred with the introductions of Marxist and capitalist influence, along with continuing friction from racial inequalities. Inciting civil war, black nationalist groups participated in violent attacks against white settlers, trying to end "white minority rule" in the government.
Decolonised Africa has lost many of its social and economic institutions and to this day shows a high level of informal economic. In another result of colonialism followed by decolonisation, the African economy was drained of natural resources with no opportunity to diversify from its colonial export of cash crops. Suffering through famine and drought, Africa struggled to industrialise its poverty stricken work force without sufficient funds.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decolonisation_of_AfricaIn an attempt to influence the Third World to adopt the ideology of either capitalism or Communism, the United States and the Soviet Union loaned food and money to Africa. To feed, educate, and modernise its masses, Africa borrowed large sums of money from various nations, bankers and companies. In return, the lenders forced the African countries to devalue their currency and attempted to exert political influence within Africa. The borrowed money, however, did not rehabilitate the devastated economy. Since the massive loans were usually squandered by the mismanagement of corrupt dictators, social issues such as education, health care, and political stability have been ignored.
Sorry if i was harsh with you.
I agree, the sum of a person is more than mere IQ.
Did you have any sleep at all last night? OFF TOPIC but important.
Ahh the Wiki again. It carries more weight than the other quoted references. I presume. Which part or section of that whole document are you referencing too? Just for interest.
What are you going to refer me next, Criticism of the ROUND EARTH?![]()
Yes it is...I was reffering to a post from UnoPanelvan---> "I never see you apologize for the derailments you make." btw it was suppose to be seen as a joke, but it seems you dont see it as such?...We call it a "Sense of Humour"![]()
Sometimes i wish we could have been back in the day of the Bible...Just so we could see some "miracle" again.

I dont Blame Africans in the least for being peeved at 1st world countries.
Hmm I do, the first world countries are not responsible for what happened generations before.
Im peeved at Africa for wasting all the aid that it gets GIVEN for FREE.
Africans of today didn't live through slavery...
Without us they would still be wearing shaganappies and killing eachother with flimsy little spears. I dont blame the Germans for starting ww2 because they aren't the same germans.. Your logic is ignorant
Save that for the Philosophical debates sub-forum.

Africans of today didn't live through slavery and they are certainly happy to be able to watch TV, drive around in expensive cars and dress smart.. Without us they would still be wearing shaganappies and killing eachother with flimsy little spears. I dont blame the Germans for starting ww2 because they aren't the same germans.. I've asked him for links to these threads/posts, too.
I was hoping I'd have more luck asking you.
I blame the Africans for giving-in to all the Western ways of doing things. Look at this world now, guns, money, technology, global warming, etc.
