Why is Africa a Failure?

Hey Pixie22, could a shaganappy be the genuine leather designer underwear that we Africans wore before we were colonised...?:D

You mean those that were sometimes very short and sometimes right down up to just below the knees?

Nothing philosophical about it...Thats all there is still left to do to "try" and save this country...and thats "hope".

It is entirely philosophical as it pertains to Christianity and Jesus' performing of miracles which is highly debatable and not related to the OP at all. You are also talking about South Africa specifically again - that is irrelevant to Africa as a whole. If you would like to debate South Africa's current situation and whether Jesus performed miracles or not, please do so in the News & Current Affairs and Philosophical debates sub-forums respectively.

Africans have live 1000's of years BEFORE there were even chinese, etc and they still did nothing to "uplift" themselfs...So its no use passing the bucket to "excuses"...Unless you know something that i dont?

We've been through this before. What kind of uplifting are you referring to?

What happened generations before?

Africans are peeved at Europeans who took and exploited Africa's resources, one of the reasons why there is such a need for African aid these days.

They live on a continent which has been fscked up because of slavery, exploitation etc.

One of the few things to thanks religious texts for. But remember, Africa has been exposed to the New World for considerably less time than that of Europe.

Africa never progressed before colonization either. But i guess that was also Europes fault!?

A shagga Nappy? Im not sure how to spell it. Anyways, I got this word in balderdash once and I guessed that it was the animal skin a bushman wears, and I got it right! I have never forgotten it

Enough  one post was more than enough to determine that he was going to ignore your request. Stop littering the forum with your bickering

No. If certain members are going to be labelling as a thread derailer, then they will be sure to get my opinion regarding the matter.

Still waiting for the posts/threads in which I supposedly derailed threads.

postman..los daai pot

Why you post and talk to yourself, eish.

Regarding the topic.

Is it fair to say from all of the posts above that the reason why Africa, particular ZIM2.0(home of the white genocide) is a failure is because its the indiginous africans fault..is that what is being said or did I misunderstand?

Partly right. I would say the biggest mistake indigenous Africans made was to allow the West to bombard ideologies into our minds. We "let" the west to colonize us. That where indigenous Africans lost it.

I have no idea how those indigenous Africans were living back then. But I'm too damn sure they were happy with what they had. Like I said, there was no need for money, technology, guns, drugs, wars, bombs, cars, and all these things

I mean who invented all these things?

This is thread is one off them. Do your own research, maybe it will keep you busy:

Same OLD song, for two weeks running now. No debate, just stabs and repetitive comments or one liners thus all the facts and arguments presented here in now "debunked". Please debate some of the direct questions lodged at you and stop the repetitive one liners. You're are quick becoming living proof of what you think other people think.

I haven't smoked pot in a while. Whether I do or don't is irrelevant. I'll let you know when I have some again. Then you can look out for errors and inconsistencies in my posts - of which I guarantee you will find none.

South Africa is far from a failure, and its problems are unique to South Africa and so do not apply to Africa as a whole, as intended by the OP. If you would like to discuss South Africa as a supposed failure, you're welcome to start a new thread.

Africa is/has failing/failed because of a combination of European colonialism and Africans. I hove covered this previously. Would you like me to show you where?

Excellent post!:D:D:D
They were happy people!
They did not need those things.
Do we westerners really need those "civilised" things?
No, we don't.

I admit that different tribes killed each other every now and again, but so did we.

Why is it that Europe, the Americas including the poor South and Asia all getting better economically and advancing but Africa always stuck or progressing backwards?

different cultures

Sure all country have corrupt polititions but why does Africa have all the corrupt/stupid ones the world could host?

true - but then there are/were a couple of nasties in Europe / Asia / Americas as well

Why are the people here so slow at everything and leave everything for last? (Eskom etc.)

You're generalizing ...

All the people do in this continent is blame colonialism, racists and other countries for their own problems and this all is p*ssing me off.
Hong Kong and Singapore were colonized, it didn't stop them from using the colonialist infrastructure to build up their economies tremoundesly.
S. Korea after the Korean war was a messed up country. It had more internal problems than this whole continent and had no natural resources such as coal, oil or gold to trade. Now look at them, they built themselves up pretty nicely for being the size of 2 Gautengs.

see my first post in this thread

Africa has potential, and its not using itquestion

QFT - potential is to be found (although it might not seem so !)

As far as I can remember, you were the one who stated that I need to apologise for derailing other threads. I've told you that you're welcome to go and do your digging and report back to me in PM.

This seems to agree with me:

How Europe Underdeveloped Africa.

You're welcome to pose the questions to me. Or did you forget that I told you I will address them when I feel like it?

Have no idea what you mean.

I think you're getting a bit carried away. It's exactly this kind of thinking that is partially responsible for the poverty situation - blaming the west and then trying to resist change (even if it means staying in poverty) because it's related to the west in some way or another. A lot of "money, technology, guns, drugs, wars, bombs, cars" came from the east as well. I mean you're posting from a computer aren't you? What's stopping you from going back to what made you happy? All that would do is add to the continent's poverty crisis.

My point is that everyone (all races) stop bitching, and move on with their lives. The past cannot be changed, and blaming people will not contribute anything in the way of progress. White people must stop blaming the current government, and try and contribute where they can towards the future. Black people should stop blaming the past, they have the opportunity now to shape a better future. If everyone has a common goal in mind, we can all get along fine. EOS.

OMW So other African countries do not have any problems unique to their circumstances and thus by your standards is not exempt from the Topic statement. Only South Africa is exempt. Nice logic you have there, prolly the best excuse any African could muster. Could win you an Oscar. Congrats.

Please highlite them, the special and unique exemptions for South Africa and please show us why South Africa and Africa is not failing. Start with crime and power or whatever you please. Just leave the school boys choir out of it.. Please!

I think Robin Hood (who I have told him time and time again why it was not needed) could learn a bit from these two posts - he expects Africans to have uplifted themselves, invented things, being technologically advanced etc. prior to colonialism.
