Why is Flickr soooooo slow?

10Mb ADSL

VSDL has been in my neighbourhood for a while now. It's just that when it sees my street it branches off and kinda wraps around it. Why God? :crylaugh:

Even the fastest VDSL line only gives you three up so it would be three times faster than what you're currently getting... but still not fibre speeds.

Whenever I have large uploads I try to wait until there's a SuperRugby match on at the stadium. They've got great upload speeds there

For what it's worth, Flickr is slow for me too, with images occasionally not loading (timing out, really). And I'm on a gigabit symmetric connection.

But then, I expect nothing from a Yahoo property. It's a pity really, flickr is what got me back into photography. These days I only load it up if I want to show someone a photo that I know is on-line (usually when I'm travelling, so it's on my phone too).
