Been looking at trying out a high refresh rate Free Sync monitor but it's impossible to find anything affordable locally, there are a few options but they would need to be imported and thus make it not only more expensive but also more of a pain if something goes wrong with it.

Two monitors specifically stand out in the category namely the AOC G2460PF and the Nixeus NX-VUE24A which are both in the $200 - $300 price range.

Amazon.co.uk has the best deal on the AOC model which comes in at ÂŁ165 for the monitor but an extra ÂŁ140 for shipping and import duties, this still however makes it cheaper than anything locally at around R5500 with the current exchange rate.

Surely a local distributor could get a shipment of these in and we could look at a price of around R4000 - R5000 for this monitor.

@Esquire I know you guys stock (used to?) AOC monitors, any chance of getting this model in?

I asked about AOC Monitors a while back. No one seem's to be bringing them in, except for some entry level 18" crap.

I know Esquire used to have a few, but I only see one listed now on their site.

Also, an even cheaper option than the AOC is the Acer XF240H, which comes in at ÂŁ154 for the monitor.

Please update the thread if you come across anything locally. Heard the import taxes on monitors are crazy.

Local selection of monitors is abysmal and gets worse the further up the high-end scale you go.

The closest I've found so far is this LG, price is R5870: http://www.rebeltech.co.za/monitors...0cd-m2.html?search_query=free+sync&results=28

It's an ultrawide and only a 75Hz monitor though but is IPS.

Have been eyeing that monitor. Will bite the bullet and most probably get that in December.

144hz & 2k resolution would make it perfect.

The other option was this: http://www.rebeltech.co.za/monitors...560x1440-brightness-350cd-m2-contrast-ra.html

They have some decent Asus monitors at Asus prices. The decently priced ones are TN panels thou. And out of stock it seems.
