Why people text and drive

I blame those Whatsapp blue ticks.

Now people know i read a message and expect a response.

But that means that you read the message while driving in the first place, which you shouldn't have done... :p

This phone addiction seems to be a real issue though. In our smoking area, people come in and the first thing they do is pull out the phone before even lighting up.

You need to kinda condition people. Read or not they should get used to you not responding immediately, even if you can.

In the world of texting while driving - reading a message much easier to do then responding to one. I would say responding is where more accidents take place

My phone is up on the windscreen when I do text (Swype). To me that is the lesser of 2 evils since looking down whilst driving allows for no peripheral vision whatsoever. That said, I have found myself veering when focusing on the message I am Swyping..

In order to text while driving, I have to take off my driving glasses, put on my reading glasses.... So probably not going to happen.

I'm amazed on how many women I see texting and driving in traffic... it's not even funny. That "not looking at the road, but down at the phone" head is now like second view in traffic..

I don't ever text while driving, that's just madness. If I read a message its usually while standing still or I lift the phone so that I still have full view of the road in front of me but that almost never happens...

Don't do it often but still guilty nonetheless. :erm:

Look at all the silly people trying to justify their potentially lethal actions.

The messages come though on my watch but that is also ignored.

It's the idiots using their phones when reversing out of parking bays that really piss me off

Driving while driving.

texting while texting.

16bit operating system here. 1 thing at a time.

As if texting while driving was not enough, people are resorting to texting while smoking. Up with this we should not put!
