Quite frankly you should vote DA only until they may or may not rule. Or any other party for that matter. The great democratic system only works if one tiny swing could force the Government of the day out of ruling. No political party believes in what they ask you to vote for and as soon as they are the ruling party things start changing and they forget about who elected them for what purposes. They start thinking that they can do anything they want and abuse the system to their enrichment and not what the people who voted for them want and need.
I have first hand experience of the DA and press freedom and corruption. The Overstrand area where they rule is ten to one just as corrupt as the rest of South Africa, with dubious tenders awarded everywhere. But write about it on the DA Facebook page and it gets removed instantly.
So until we cancel the proportional representative system, where the party decides who gets into parliament or others, we will forever be plagued by useless people who kowtow to their leaders for own gain, rather than people who really care about you as a human or their communities
