Look, I also don't know about this but that specific guy cannot afford 8Kw power system. Is it really feasible to add geyser as essential item under a 3 or 5kw system?

3kw prob not but if you are able to manage your 5kw system well then I would say go for it.

Not incorrect per se, its a matter of knowing system limits -

If you only have a 5KW inverters or worse, a 3KW inverter, then adding a geyser into the mix will pull too much power, and the inverter will trip with an error.
With an 8KW theres enough headroom to use multiple devices simultaneously.

With a 5kw, washing machine going, plus geyser, and then kids want toast = a trip.

Sure, you can minimize load, but not everyone knows to do that. So the safe answer for many is don't power the geyser during load shedding.
The layman can understand that, vs calculate ok, roughly how many KW am I using, and will I go over.

Rule of thumb on smaller systems, would obviously be, no cooking and no geyser on the inverter as they'll draw too much current.

Agreed but I have heard of installers who say cooking/geysers on a system irrespective of size isnt possible. Avoid these like the plague

I run my geyser , Dishwasher, and do laundry at the same time and barely exceed 6kw.

my geyser has a 3.5kw element like most geysers.
I can even install a smaller element ie./ 1 or 2kw element to lessen the load when the geyser runs it will just take longer to heat.

So for people with smaller systems, Replace your geyser element with something smaller. 2kw vs 3.5kw element makes a hella difference.
 
Woke up to 72% (+- 10.8kWh) juice in left the batteries
Not sure what changed but usually it sits at 63% right about now. I should check if all my fridges,freezers are working or if something is broken because my baseload seems to be less than usual

They are pretty reputable. A colleague used them and he's very happy with his system and the arrangements. He's also referred a number of people to them. I know they have a current waiting / lead time of more than a month (area dependent). Only u can answer if rental is the right option for you.

Turns put my flood lights were switched off....
Didn't realize they draw that much power.

Then again, my house does light up like a Christmas tree at night
 
Time to invest in more efficient floodlights?
Yes getting 6 x 10w flood lights. Currently I currently have 50w flood lights installed. I want ones with sensors though.They don't need to bee on all the time. Only when it detects movement. This will also save some juice.
 
What a useless day today was, just kept it on Eskom from 2pm cause it just kept hovering around 75%

Yeah, I have been trying to see if we could produce and average of 25kWh/day but this bad weather along with long unplanned outages have just about stuffed that plan.
