Why Subaru's have 'flat' engines

IINM, the last EVO out was the EVO 8 and I must check the forums but I'm sure it was about R5000 cheaper than the STi at the time.

WRT your special price, how many have you got left? It is for all intensive, non-KZN buyers still a R300,000 car.

I actually spoke to someone about an EVO on Saturday, and he had the prices with him. There are 3 variations and they were anything up to 600k.

I can deliver a Legacy anywhere in the country, so @249, it is available country wide...Not just KZN

Last Evo that was sold in SA was the Evo 9.
I have friends with Evo's (8 and 9's) and I can tell You an Evo is demand in the past few months. They DEF. NOT cheaper than a STi, and I have seen this as well on the mitsu and scooby SA forums.

The demand is greater now than ever for a clean decent Evo and hence the pricing is higher.


I love both Scoobs and Evo's.
If I could afford another car @ any point - I'd buy the Evo 9. What an Awesome machine.

Well we were talking about brand new cars but yeah I can imagine why the EVOs cost more than the STIs.
 
Discovery or Nat Geo ( Mega Factories) had a documentary on Porche and flat engines.Was an interesting programme. :D

New they were, but seeing as they are no longer available locally, they wouldn't suffer the same depreciation as the STI which has newer models coming out.

No, I said that "our" company also owned Mitsubishi down here. It is not Imperial. The EVO IS available on special order, and it IS more expensive than an STi - not too sure why you are flip flopping on this one.

So the STi has new models coming out? Please tell me about them.

Available on special order doesn't cut it really, I mean you can see the STi on the Subaru website, why would Mitsubishi be so secretive about it's availability?

The whole group thing made a lot more sense when I visited Suburudurban.co.za not subaru.co.za...

You guys are owned by NMI DSM :P Why didn't you just say this in the beginning?

Well the 2012 STi won't be significantly different from the 2011 model, 2013 is marked as the year for a complete upgrade. Shouldn't you know this sort of thing? :eek:

For some reason or other Mitsubishi SA is terrified of committing themselves to that market. Don't ask me why, because I don't know. All that I do know is that the car is available on special order, and precisely what that means, perhaps Mister Bitchy can give you the answer...

Why don't NMI DSM list Subaru on their website? Bit cheeky of them.
 
Keep in mind that no car salesman is going to tell you to hold off on a new purchase for two years for the new model. They need to eat too. :)
