Why this DStv user couldn't watch TV when it was cold at night

Thanks for 5 minutes of my life I will not get back.. :/

TLDR, faulty component in a particular batch of smart LNBs does not play well with the cold causing loss of signal..
You don't think the article shed some light for people in the same position?

Tks

Lol. I had a similar situation. In winter at night the secondary decoder would stop getting heartbeat from the primary decoder. After months I figured out that it only happens when a certain outside light was switched on (automatically on timer). I moved the light (including wiring) now the problem is gone.

Probably electrical interference... could never understand why it happened only at nights and only during winter though.

Thanks for the article. I think a family member might have this problem.
Now there might be a solution.
