No it's not. Ex has no motive to send screenshots to husband. WhatsApp screenshots will indicate that they're taken from wife's phone, not ex's phone.

You guys have been married almost 17 years and have been through a million things already. Nothing will be able to break the relationship you have. Even if she meets up with him, knobs his brains out it will be a temporary thing. These type of things lead to a divorce as the other party feels they can't be wife wife/husband no more. It's just sex ffs...

She's probably only had one man her whole life. Don't get hung up on it. If she does end up banging him, she'll feel bad and you will be rewarded greatly

Except that the WhatsApp image will again show that the screenshot was taken on wife's phone, not ex's phone. So the culprit can only be someone who can access wife's phone.

Go onto her google maps, add yourself to it by using the share location feature in google maps.
You can now track where their eventual date will be.
Walk in on date.

Google maps is not accurate. I once looked up my history and it placed me in places I'd never be. Either that or I was blackout drunk again and went on adventures again.

A lawyer once said, after 40 years if divorcing people, it is only then and there, at the table where the signature is needed, that the couple finally understood where they went wrong and what they could've done to fix/save the marriage.
So... before that happens, go for counselling.
Even happy couples (healthy relationships) go for counselling, and this is a very good thing to be honest. This is growth.
