WiFi Kettle

Warm Porta and Cup.
Flush the head.
Tamp the beans.
Clean the steaming wand.
Take a sip.
Clean the head and filter.
Rinse the jug.
Wipe the machine to keep it shiny.
Let dog lick cup.

Bliss.

Sir I don't judge what you do with a porta potty or how you accomplish all those other things but letting the dog lick the cup after you've done all that is sick.

I said good day to you!

Look I'm with you. Tea reigns supreme. Just the idea that it's only for Americans I laughed at a little. I work with a frenchman who would be offended at being even remotely equated to an American

Lol, yeah, just kidding. I know Europeans love their coffee. I work for a Finnish company and when I go there they have these huge coffee urns all over the office that I drink about 4 or 5 cups a day from.

Something to keep in mind is whatever kettle you get, you need to get one that has a high power draw for the volume. The aforementioned AppKettle boiled water very quickly because it was 2500W for 1.7l capacity.

They are useless for the first 6 or 7 years.. so you are down to 11 years out of 18.. then when they turn 10/11 they stop doing what you ask until they leave the house..

You get 3-4 years of use out of a minion..
Lets make it the minimum. and start at 18. 65-(18-3- (9 months))

That would equal to 16 children spaced at 3 years interval starting at age 15 and 3 months.

How the heck did I (and my coffee machine) get dragged into this if OP is looking for Wifi Kettle.
You are our resident flavoured hot water expert, And you have no say about it.

Well, tbf, something you may not have considered is that I'm not you so I have my own needs that may differ from yours.

For me it's not about time but rather my habit of making tea and then going back to bed to drink it. So getting out of bed to immediately make tea in the morning and then jumping back in is far preferable to getting out of bed and switching the kettle on and then hanging about in the cold waiting for the kettle to boil.

The point is, I need a new kettle and *I* thought this type might be a worthwhile replacement.

The kettle will be boiled by the time you get out a cup/spoon/sugar/milk/teabag/whatever.

My house is a little Xiaomi China shop, with TV boxes, vacuum, humidifier, phones etc. But I draw the line at something like this, it just doesn't seem very useful. A smart coffee machine would be far more handy...

Mines is partly smart. Only has a smart switch cos it needs to turn off and stay off if there is load shedding , low battery in the house.

Nice to see how much if uses

A WiFi operated kettle sounds just a bit too gimmicky to be useful.

If you're going to spend a bit, get a Hydroboil that is plumbed into your water line, and triggered with a Sonoff switch and a contactor.

Again, that also sounds like more effort and money spent for what you want to achieve.

It’s useful for setting the temperature if nothing else and cost wise isn’t much more than a regular brand name kettle.

I could see me personally using this for our domestic who comes in every Wednesday and having it trigger nice and early so she can wash the dishes. (Geyser is off until much later).
