Hi guys and girls

So I got fibre last week. :thumbsup:
Unfortunately, the wifi capability of this router is pretty weak :thumbsdown:

Can you recommend a simple, decent wifi range extender that can go through walls (I live in a duplex). I need a good quality one for a reasonable price. So not the cheap ass ones that don't work well or last long, and not the overpriced top-of-the-range ones either. Bang for buck is what I'm looking for.
 
I have the exact same router.:cool:

I bought the TP-Link TL-WA850RE Wi-Fi range extender. Works quite well for my house. It currently extends the signal though about 3-5 walls from where my router is situated and was decently priced (think I paid R500) for it.
Easy to setup, it even has an indicator to show you how strong the signal is, which allows you to move it around to find the sweet spot.

Lots of other, but expensive solutions are available, but if you want decent bang for your buck quality, you can't go wrong with this one :)

I bought a TP-LINK AV600 Wi-Fi Powerline Extender Starter Kit and a TP-Link PA4010K AV500 Nano Powerline Starter Kit for my house about a month ago.

Have my pc in the house and garage plugged into one each, then have my tv and my Fire tv cube plugged into the wifi part.

Finally have my plex server in the last one.

So most of my machines are plugged in directly, the rest are on wifi (from both my lte router and the tplink AV600 wifi).

Whole house covered for R2K and decent speeds.

All you need from the above for great speeds is the TP-LINK AV600 Wi-Fi Powerline Extender Starter Kit.

Gives you 2x 600Mbps LAN ports and great wifi.
No repeater mode (set up as AP) and no extra cables around the house.

Thanks! That looks interesting. Can that unit have both 2GHz and 5GHz bands active at the same time? My phone runs only on 2GHz wi-fi but my tab and laptop can do 5GHz, so I need both frequencies to be active.

Not really looked if it does both at once, I'll check tonight.

I checked last night actually, Only 2.4Ghz enabled so thing it's just one or the other but not both.
I am using 2.4Ghz so that my wifi can reach my garage (around 45 meters from the house)
