Wileyfox Swift

The Swift is absolutely stellar so far - I've only had it for an hour and initial impressions are very good.

I also ordered a Swift from Orange Store in December last year and it arrived the very next week after placing the order which is very quick free delivery, from the 17th to the 24th December. People who want to find a more decent phone for the that price would be disappointed if they look elsewhere because the Swift offers dual sim capability and a separate SD card slot plus the battery is removable which is very rare these days as more phones are coming with non-removable batteries. The Cyanogen OS 12.1 is really also one major plus when using the phone as it offers so many ways of customizing the phone!

Today I also received the latest security update for Cyanogen OS 12.1 from Wileyfox and it has fixed lots of stuff like the quality of low-light photos, etc.

It was ultimately the dual sim with SD slot that sold me. So far, I'm enormously satisfied with the phone. I can't, frankly, see a need for a 9K plus phone when this 3K phone does everything I need it to do. A good deal.

I have been using the Swift for more than two months now and love it and Cyanogen. There's a few duel sim phones available today that uses a micro sim and a nano sim in the SD slot, I prefer the two micro sim slots of the Swift.
Updates from Cyanogen\Wileyfox are on cue with Android's new policy of issuing security updates on a monthly basis. I have just received my second firmware update that addressed a lot of issues, most of which I didn't even known about. My Android security level is now 1/1/2016 : you can't get better than that!

My Wileyfox screen cracked for no reason (the LCD, not the glass) and I have been struggling since 19 Jan with Orange to at least just take a look at it. Terrible service. Last purchase there for a long time.

That's bad news.

It also makes me wonder about the warranty on my phone, didn't pay much attention to that...

If you registered on their website then Wileyfox will give to a free screen replacement. Sorry to hear though.

Couple of comments:

GPS does sometimes lose lock.

When playing music through the google play music app, after plugging headphones in, the second song doesn't play and you have to press play again to get it going. Weird.

Answering call slider is sometimes non-responsive and you need to lock and unlock to make it work.

I've seen that last defect happen on my work friend's Galaxy S5.

Edit: Whatsapp calls he says.

I dont think I have ever had a phone where the gps is lost every now and then :(

It was EXTRAORDINARILY hot that particular day - Perhaps that affected the unit.

Meant to say I have never had a phone where the GPS lock is never lost now and then. Happens on my Meizu too. I will have to test it some more, but disabling A-GPS seems to make it more stable. With A-GPS on the location of my car will jump around on the map.

I have, but you first need to ship it to the UK. I have today received a list of "authorised" repair centres from Orange. They don't actually repair anything. They just get the phone in for Orange to sort out in their 30 days send it in and return it policy.

Really bleak about this at the moment. The phone was awesome while it lasted. :(

Really sorry to hear. It would be nice to hear if Wileyfox would offer more support in terms of everyday assistance needed for their smartphones. Otherwise, I would stay clear from them next time and rather stick with a more reputable brand like Oneplus.
