Will cheap broadband really change your life

Hmm. I just stubmled upon some "Unpublished" SAOL web pages! There's no links to these pages from their main website.

4MB (Line rental included) 1Gig Intl + 20Gig Local FOR R370 first 12 months. Isn't that cheaper than telkoms 4MB line? : http://www.saol.com/adsl10.php

You could always top up with Afrihost GB's ;)

The other pages: 512K (line rental included) 1Gig FOR R289 : http://www.saol.com/adsl10.php
Just increment/decrement the digit(s) in the URL for other pages..

PS. I wonder if they were planning to make these "specials", public soon..

SA seems to be congratulating itself on a Soccer 2010 job well done even before the job is done. When the tourists arrive and they see the state of affairs and start to lodge their complaints left right and centre, they will moan about slow inconsistent internet, the RICA of cell phones will cause chaos, etc... that will the wake up call that SA gov needs

LOL yea right. Nothing but being voted out will shake our government up. I ask you this: If you were in a job being overpaid with total job security what could possibly shake you up?

Monthly charges are R370 for the first 12 months, thereafter R450 for the remaining 12 months
This is a 24 month agreement

looking at SAINET's 3g prices, they are slightly better than vodacom and mtn... anyone know how it works and how their coverage is?

They are basically just reselling MTN's 3G - last time I checked. So your coverage will be that of MTN. They sent me a SIM card, and off I went. (Used bundled 3G/ADSL for a while).

So what's the cheapest uncapped reliable 4mb service out there these days?

Edit: Afrhost's 50Gb (+50Gb free until 31 May) for R950 would be pretty close to an uncapped service for most people I think.

Axxess's uncapped offering has got to be the best. R999 and guys are getting 600gigs, 700gigs, 800gigs a month?!!!! Ridiculous value.

The biggest obstacle is still the insanely high line rental charge.
Agreed!!! Is there any pressure being brought to bare from anywhere to reduce line rental charges. I see and hear nothing on the subject other than the odd post on myBB...

I only just discovered the wonders of uncapped albeit 384k.
In a single day i downloaded what would have been a months cap for me on Vodacom's 'speedy' HSDPA.
At this point in time uncapped has changed my life and finally i can see the internet like those digits from the matrix.
I guess its only a matter of time before i want 4mb's speed but right now i choose no cap over speed.

I'm happy with my 384, and since I went uncapped (Digichilli) it has completely changed the way I use the internet, even with it working only half the time.
