Hi guys.

I am planning on opening a small medical practice. This means I will require reliable internet access as well as being able to network the wireless printer.

I have absolutely no idea what I am doing but at the moment am thinking of the following setup:

8ta contract at R199/month for 10GB
3g router (Linksys Wireless 3g router) (R700)
Samsung SCX 4623FW 4-in-one (R1700)
Decent PC (R3500)

There will be 2 of us sharing the printer so will this setup work?

Not sure of the wireless printer needs an ad-hoc connection, or if it can be connected to an access point (router). Otherwise all should be fine.

Thanks.

Will I not need a 3g dongle as well and if so which 1? As you can see I have absolutely no idea what I am doing.
Will the TP-Link modems not be cheaper and serve the same function as the Linksys?

yes, you will need a 3G dongle as well, just buy one from 8ta when you get your contract

is there a particular reason why you are opting for a laser printer?

Yes you will need a dongle. Huaweu E367 is a nice one. As for the routers, I have not had much experience with them. I'm using a TRENDNet router which is fine for me. Perhaps someone else here has got more experience with that.

Thanks for the advice.
Going to be printing a decent amount once the pharmacy is established so it should be cheaper in the long run...I think

just check on replace cost of laser cartridges for the Samsung and how many pages you'll get a cartridge, I did some research early last year and found that the new HP inkjets still worked out cheaper (but I'm not a printer boff)

If you tell 8ta you're a business client you get a freebie modem (dongle) when you sign up for Internet Promo 5.
