Will you boycott DSTV?

Will you boycott DSTV over the planned reduction of concurrent streams?

I don't boycott anything. Not prepared to give up on my sports and stuff

They offer XtraView which also doesn't count as a stream, but they charge extra for each additional independent connection in the residence (up to 3 decoders total).
I know about that, we still have it for my parents' room (there isn't a decoder there, just the actual cable coming from the roof).

I was talking about a family setup without a decoder and only an internet connection (I see it was a bit unclear, I will update my post).

Nobody will boycott, if you believe that, you also believe that Steve Stofsuier don't have DSTV anymore.
People saying they will boycott, are the one using other people's passwords, so they have no choice, they will be cut automatically, and the rest don't have DSTV anyway.

There are some channels, news in particular for me, and sport for others which you cannot reliably stream elsewhere.
Yup, in particular for me, the Afrikaans channels (Kyknet and VIA) and Etv (hence why I'm excited for Dstv Flex the day it releases cause then we can pay a lot cheaper for DSTV then while cutting out some of the **** we don't watch like some sports, movie channels...). I can get enough English and other language content off of Netflix thx.
And i don't want 10 apps, 5 NUC's and 3 pi's just to watch the news.
Same. Or having to set up and customize a VPN (also while paying a VPN sub to use the damn thing) to access dodgy IPTV sites that will give you nine trillion viruses or perhaps creating a BBC iPlayer account with the hopes of watching the latest ****in' episodes of The Graham Norton Show which you could have done on DSTV anyway or having 10 different apps for 10 different sports, etc...

Seriously considering cancelling my subscription, constant replays of sickening advertisements.
Expect more ads - with fewer measurable viewers advertisers are going to want something in return.

Depends whether we can find a reliable way to watch the rugby and cricket. The european football we watch can easily be done the other 2 are issues.

Where do you get your info?
They give latest movies, and still quite a few new series although that's limited to certain studios.
Digital Sat TV is hardly what you could call very old tech, only about 2 decades old.

Expensive only if you want to keep the good sport and M-Net, otherwise not really now.
2 Decades isn't old?? Not using any tech product that old in our house.

Once the various sports unions realise they could just start their own collective streaming service and make more than Multichoice could ever offer them in licensing fees, the whole thing is dead.
Once the current contracts they will realize they can make more by either offering it themselves or having separate streaming and traditional tv deals up for grabs.

no, because I get a total sports package that is more convenient, more comprehensive for what I watch, and cheaper than any other offering on the planet

I don't see my decision as boycotting so much as just not making sense on the cost/benefit scale any longer.

I would've thought most of you guys already didn't have it? I mean we always see messages about I got rid of DSTV so many years ago yadda yadda, what will all you boycot?
