When my pricelock ended about 2 years ago, I cancelled and got rid of all the hardware. I only use Netflix that cost me way way less than the ridiculous Dstv that goes up every year. Never been happier and it saves me thousands a year. I can live without sport and endless useless repeats...

I use my in-laws account to stream F1, some cricket, rugby and that's about it. The kids get everything they want to watch off Pokemon TV or Netflix, and we have Netflix/Britbox.

Other than that, there would be no reason to subscribe to an over-priced service only offering repeats for the most part.

What's there to boycott? It's not a matter of principle.

They amended their offering, and if it no longer suits you, you cancel it.
I don't currently have a subscription, and I don't plan to do business with them in the future because they are a evil greedy company.

So, yes basically I'm boycotting them.

At R500 for the premium package with extra view and pvr capabilites I would pay that.
I doubt that will ever happen, as they are greedy and it is just about making money and milking people and they do not give a rats ass about whether people like it. They have a attitude like "take it or leave it - we will hike prices like we want" - I am glad I got rid or them...

Amazon has begun with certain rugby tournaments in the northern hemisphere. With
our rugby possibly going Six Nations plus the current URC their hold on sport is soon over.
All it needed was competition to expose their monopoly.
Imagine if they were forward thinking 10 years back and introduced prepaid DSTV.

No I will not boycott DSTV. They have every right to curb the freeloaders. DSTV remains one of the most affordable methods of entertainment in South Africa. Only one person in my household stream at the moment at any time.

Irrespective of what dstv is willing to offer, I will not become a subscriber. There are to many loopholes in their system. So no I won't boycott them, but I will also not support them.

Not boycotting them per se, however, I am cancelling my subscription due to yet another price hike and fewer quality channels

Cancelled my subscription in 2018 and have never looked back since. Their programmes are outdated and so is their management. There is so much better content out there that costs a lot less than DSTV. Not to mention the loads of free stuff. Multichoice is the last dinosaur heading for extinction.

yes, i will because i pay a lot of money for my dstv and with that change it is very unfair because everything in these days must be available when you not at home you can live stream at work on your phone.
