WiMax Information Guide

I've been using it for almost 6 months now and must say that I'm impressed - heard rumors that they might be uping the bandwidth to 1Mb, but as I said, it's jut rumors ....
 
I Have to agree, I've been using it for about 4 months and never had a moments trouble!!!! WIMAX IS AWESOM!

Think there a couple of business that do it for Telkom, you should be getting a call from them any moment.

guess what got a call from amber called from a 021706 number installation confirmed..

my installation is for monday between 9 and 11 do you guys think i should be here as i cant get off work.mondays are notorius for a babalas days so asked my dad to be here when they install thing is this do i need to be here?

o yes what questions do i need to ask and what do i need to know so that nothing gets left out?

They didn't say from what company they from, but after telkom gave me a reference number it only took a few days and they installed.
 
I personally think you should be there for the installation!!;) so that if there is problems you can point it out to them, unless your Dad is pretty good at understanding internet connections and networking.

Also, have you arranged your internet service provider yet??

No, am still shopping around am considered at work as a power user so i really have to behave myself at home:sick:.I use du meter and checked at month end and did 26gigs intl :Dso wrt to ISP i dont need international as much so looking at local 30gig local..

Dad know`s nothing internet related...

is this possible, that would mean that i have 50 gig local if you combine the 2 and telkom 2gig for intl only

Amber also called me to install my WiMax.

I do recommend you be there, cause those guys will look for the easiest and quickest way to install. Be there to make sure they doing a neat job.

You can have multiple ISP accounts running on WiMax at the same time, if that's what you asking?

You can use both accounts, just use route sentry to set them up together. I use AXXESS local and SAINET international at the same time!!

As for the amount of bandwidth you using :eek: my wife will kill me if I spent so much time downloading!!!!:p

Let us know how the connections works out once installed...........

#@$%#@$^ $@%^@$% @%$#^@# the dam signal is not strong enough and says am going to have endless problems with connectivity as he does and he is apparently in the same area.

ok let me edit again....just called the techie:cool:

According to gamco gamcop gamwhatever(WIMAX installer) i have his direct;) number , the wynberg high site not strong enough and kanon kop in tygerberg not strong enough :sick:HOWEVER sometime in this month they will be adding 2 new sites STEENBERG and SOMERSET these sites are apparently very high and will cover a bigger distance.

Yes, according to the techie i do not need to reapply the application will be sent to telkom and they will apparently send out another work order.

I stay off Baden Powell Strandfontein(am on google earth..:Dlmao)
 
Is this product a good ting and what’s the dl speed and up speed is it constant and reliable :)
 
ok the techies are here now installing my wimax what is the next step after completion of installation..?
