WiMax Information Guide

yes did a nice job of it .BUT apparently telkoos are having difficulties activating the line/air i bought an axxess local only account but cannot connect.I S$$T you not spent 3hrs today trying to get technical assitance not one idiot could help me. ERROR 678

Spoke to tech support they cant do anything they are having problems on there side that the tech support and the installer cannot explain to me.There advise is to wait its been a f#$ing week already and still no connectivity. What to do?

They should activate you WiMax for you. They'll call the Telkom support center.

Then all you need is the create a PPPoE dial up connection in Windows, enter your ADSL username and password and you good to go :)

dude its now monday and still no WIMAX ......f*k*l is niks....

this is what she said o yes and this is how far i had to go: I called 10217 from my cell cause telskommel cant lay landlines here i then chose the option for call back knowingly that its the wrong number they call back and am like O can you then transfer for me to the right dept...After all that i get through to sulieman who wants the mac address and some other number thing i dont have then call the installer from my phone and then conference the call.He gets the mac address from her and says the order is in an active mode and it has to go into (when the fook can i use it ) state . the installer says that they are having a technical problem that they i repeat cannot explain and sulieman says that when telskommel has a problem no one knows wot the fuk is going on

wtf. Still think that the people that installed your WiMax had the responsibility to call Telkom and do the admin!

So what's gonna happen now? Does Telkom have to fix or, the company that installed your WiMax?

Ok guys all is fine i am now typing to you from my Wimax connection finaaaaaaalllllllllyyyyyyyyy .A lady by the name of trish called me got her cell (evil grin) she advised that the Steenberg BTS was new and not configured properly and finally i know now why there was a problem ..am actually impressed she was very helpfull ....and yes she is not a telkom employee she works for some company call dtech dastech...

Hi,

There are some suggestions
1 The flat panel is both a radio and an antenna
2 The Unit is technically a TCE - C= Customer T= Telkom - the equipment belongs to Telkom thus TCE
3 Your speed are the wrong way round - 512 down and 256 up

no for sure, i know all of that. the thing is the part of honeydew i stay in is fairly new and street names arent listed (not even on garmaps). when i applied for my land line they didnt know exactly where it was.

when they check the maps my street doesnt exist. they told me that that doesnt mean that there isnt reception but because its not on the system they just dont bother.

i do have los to 3x exchange towers (doubt these towers have wimax) and 2x newish red/white steel towers. im almost 100% sure that those towers are wimax towers.
Where do you live in Honeydew and can you see the tower

How long does it normally take to install the Wimax:(? or do i have to wait weeks again:eek:?

Once I got the number it took roughly 2 weeks to get everything working. Some guys have had it installed within days though while others have waited up to a month.

But it's worth the wait ;)
